I played the demo on PS4 and the controls seemed a bit clunky.

Haha, fair enough then. I'm about to start a manager career on World Class difficulty, as Legendary always kicks my ass. Trying to bring Salah, Keita, Van Dijk, and Mbappe to Liverpool to start.. to make it realistic

Can't help but be a bit unimpressed with what I've seen of NHL 18 so far.

They always seem to focus on the wrong thing, IMHO. I don't care about skill sticks and all that. I want a much deeper be a pro mode and a much deeper be a gm mode... but they just trot out the same stuff every year. It'd also be nice if the AI wasn't terrible for a change and ice-tilt became a thing of the past.

I'm even more sceptical than usual about it this year, especially when you add on the fact that they've raised the price on the UK psn standard version to £60 (about $75-80).

I'll get it, because it's the only hockey game going, but I'll be getting it when it's on sale big time.

Anybody looking forward to it?

I grab it every year. But they do seem to spend their limited development funds on crap I'm not interested in. Guess that's to be expected when you have no competition. Sad though.

Every year the NHL series does something gimmicky to add some element to the offense, but they haven't overhauled defensive AI since like 09.

I'm still scoring the same exact goals I was on the Playstation 2.

For those of you with NHL 17, I skipped out on the game this year but will be getting 18.

My memory is a little foggy from NHL 16, but can someone with the game verify if you can do a custom season/franchise mode/league with like 16 teams as opposed to 30?

I want to say you used to be able to do that if you did season mode but I can't remember.

Once you have a winger in career mode with 99 pace and 99 dribbling, coming down the flanks with normal people is hard

I enjoy a lot of their stuff, Back to the Future was fun as well.

Little bit of a combo video game/MSG related post.

This is the direction sports/entertainment companies are heading in. They've partnered with an esports team. MSG (Dolan) both owning the Knicks and Rangers has partnered up.

Adam Silver and Gary Bettman have both made claims that a potential esports NBA (2K) and NHL (EA) league seem to be in the pipeline.

Do not be surprised if in the next 2-3 years there is something like this that will be a fairly large moneymaker for both the NBA and NHL and that gamers will be representing the Rangers and Knicks on the virtual court/ice.
