To each their own, of course. Personally, I can’t enjoy sports games if I don’t keep it realistic. It’s such a buzz kill when I would be 3 seasons into a franchise and see Crosby on like Philly because the AI is dumb.

AI trade logic in sports games has always been the one thing that ruined franchise modes for me. It just becomes so completely unrealistic it ruins the immersion. And if you don't begin with an updated roster pack it's even worse, because random dude who was an 82 at the begining of your franchise rapidly shows he's a 73 a few weeks into the IRL season, and yet he's getting traded for legitimate assets.

I don't really play sports games anymore--I swore them off after The Show and NHL 23--but I always wished there was some sort of live roster update feature in franchise where it would update player ratings and positions and things like that. Maybe that already exists and I don't know. But it would also be cool because often you start the season and there's a prospect on someone's AHL team and they're like a 70 or whatever but by mid-season IRL they're on the first pair playing 22 minutes and putting up points. Would be cool to automatically have that adjusted.

EDIT: Also the names of players that come in through the draft and free agency. I loved finding a catcher from Netherlands Antilles named Dontrelle Fernandez or a Japanese pitcher named Hyoshi McCallister.

For my sim racing fans out there, just got load cell pedals. The TLCMs to be specific cause I am going to stay in thrustmaster since I have the t300 and shifter and still love me some GT7 from time to time. But oh my. It's a whole new world. It really is so much better. Wheelbase, steering wheel, shifter, whatever. Nm number means nothing. Load cell pedals change everything for the better. I was having trouble getting a GT40 around 60s Le Mans in GTR2, among other courses, but now, it's so natural. I ain't fast and ill still crash cause I am getting used to it, but man you can really get the proper braking point now. Realized I was having to brake so early before cause it was a guessing game.

If you like vintage/historic road racing in any capacity (sports cars, touring, F1, prototype, etc) check out Grand Prix Legends, Automobilista 1, GTR2, GT Legends, NR2003 and Richard Burns Rally.

If you like the old time shooter games like Doom, Quake, ROTT, etc. check out Dusk, Amid Evil, Warhammer40K Boltgun and the recently completely rebuilt Powerslave Exhumed. Or literally anything Nightdive Studios and New Blood touches. Haha

Also, if your like me and use a Series S as your sort of desktop pc/non livingroom gaming setup, many of these games have mouse and keyboard support and they are wonderful. Like the recent updated Doom and Quake.

Do those racing games you named support a racing wheel? I have the Logitech G-whatever, it’s the Xbox racing wheel that’s also compatible with PC but I don’t see those titles on their compatibility list.

They all support wheels and definitely the Logitech G series of wheels which are the most popular entry level wheels on the market, by far. However, some are a bit more difficult to get working then others. Double however, for your time and effort, Grand Prix Legends, Nascar Racing 2003 and Richard Burns Rally are free, they just take some work to get running nicely.

Grand Prix Legends is historic F1. NR2003 is Nascar from the 2003 season. Richard Burns Rally is Rally from around 2004ish. All 3 though have a MASSIVE amount of mods that add cars and tracks, among some other things.

GTR2 is sports car racing and takes a little work to make it really nice, but again there are many forums with many mods to add cool stuff.

Automobilista 1 works right out of the box and again, has a bunch of mods.

RFactor 2 has great physics and the Steam Workshop itself has a huge amount of mods you "subscribe" to that adds content to the game.

I would say always wait for sales. I just got RFactor 2 for 4 dollars. Or check CDKeys for RFactor 2 and Automobilista 1. Probably can't get Automobilista 1's ultimate edition that way though.

Then there is Assetto Corsa. It's got a stupid amount of mods and the ultimate edition is very often available for 5 bucks. You can pretty much mod that game to drive anything and physics are good.

RFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa would need a more powerful PC to run 1080p 60fps, or higher. The others are quite a bit older now and are not difficult to get top performance.

Expedition 33 shaping up to be a banger, I preordered it. I basically never preorder things from new devs unless there's at least a playable demo or reviews ahead of time.
Never heard of this game until I saw your post. Just looked it up, Turn based RPG? YES PLEASE. I'm really interested in this game now. Hoping the reviews are good.

I started driving some rally again this past weekend. Super rusty but here is me managing to not fly off the hills of Chile 🇨🇱. Going from GT racing in ACC to rally is a big change. Ton of fun, though, and I love the concentration level required to hear the co-driver’s calls for the long stages and adapt accordingly when one mistake and it’s curtains.

Never heard of it. Watched the Trailer and it looks interesting.

Anyone get Assassins Creed Shadows?
Pretty good and I like the story but I suck at the gameplay.
DL'd it last night but was too drunk to play. I'll have a go at it tonight!

Rally racing is the only racing so scary that even sim rally gets my nerves going. Haha
