To each their own, of course. Personally, I can’t enjoy sports games if I don’t keep it realistic. It’s such a buzz kill when I would be 3 seasons into a franchise and see Crosby on like Philly because the AI is dumb.

To each their own, of course. Personally, I can’t enjoy sports games if I don’t keep it realistic. It’s such a buzz kill when I would be 3 seasons into a franchise and see Crosby on like Philly because the AI is dumb.

AI trade logic in sports games has always been the one thing that ruined franchise modes for me. It just becomes so completely unrealistic it ruins the immersion. And if you don't begin with an updated roster pack it's even worse, because random dude who was an 82 at the begining of your franchise rapidly shows he's a 73 a few weeks into the IRL season, and yet he's getting traded for legitimate assets.

I don't really play sports games anymore--I swore them off after The Show and NHL 23--but I always wished there was some sort of live roster update feature in franchise where it would update player ratings and positions and things like that. Maybe that already exists and I don't know. But it would also be cool because often you start the season and there's a prospect on someone's AHL team and they're like a 70 or whatever but by mid-season IRL they're on the first pair playing 22 minutes and putting up points. Would be cool to automatically have that adjusted.

EDIT: Also the names of players that come in through the draft and free agency. I loved finding a catcher from Netherlands Antilles named Dontrelle Fernandez or a Japanese pitcher named Hyoshi McCallister.

For my sim racing fans out there, just got load cell pedals. The TLCMs to be specific cause I am going to stay in thrustmaster since I have the t300 and shifter and still love me some GT7 from time to time. But oh my. It's a whole new world. It really is so much better. Wheelbase, steering wheel, shifter, whatever. Nm number means nothing. Load cell pedals change everything for the better. I was having trouble getting a GT40 around 60s Le Mans in GTR2, among other courses, but now, it's so natural. I ain't fast and ill still crash cause I am getting used to it, but man you can really get the proper braking point now. Realized I was having to brake so early before cause it was a guessing game.

If you like vintage/historic road racing in any capacity (sports cars, touring, F1, prototype,etc) check out Grand Prix Legends, Automobilista 1, GTR2, GT Legends, NR2003 and Richard Burns Rally.

If you like the old time shooter games like Doom, Quake, ROTT, etc. check out Dusk, Amid Evil, Warhammer40K Boltgun and the recently completely rebuilt Powerslave Exhumed. Or literally anything Nightdive Studios and New Blood touches. Haha

Also, if your like me and use a Series S as your sort of desktop pc/non livingroom gaming setup, many of these games have mouse and keyboard support and they are wonderful. Like the recent updated Doom and Quake.
