I like sim racing and I just discovered Nascar Racing 2003 Season, or NR2003 for short. It is absolutely incredible. For those that sim race, if you are into oval, which i just started getting into, its the best for racing AI. Takes a bit of time to set up, but it's free and there is a large modding community.
Physics are great and with the AI set to 100%, they are legit good. I love GT7, but we can all agree the AI is trash which never bothered me until I found this game and now I'm like, there is no excuse for bad AI when this did a great job in 2003!
The team that made this game is the Papyrus team that now makes iRacing. I've heard iRacing is the best for oval, but I can't justify the cost per month plus the absolute EXTORTION that is every track and car you have to buy in addition.
Sorry for the rant and I know it's a niche community. Just stoked I found this to get some good oval racing.
New Kex engine Doom+Doom II source port is fantastic. Nightdive never disappoints.
Debating a PS5 this holiday season. I have a PS4 Pro but it is currently on the sim rig for GT7. Wondering if I should just buy a PS4 slim for cheap and use that for console racing and move the Pro back to the living room and skip the PS5 for another year. Just not too many games I'm interested in that aren't already on PS4. Just Demons Souls honestly. The boost in performance to the PS4 titles would be nice though.
