Me too. My daughter and I enjoyed playing Astro’s Playroom and went ahead and bought Astro Bot.

Also debating getting the new Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom later this month.
Yeah my daughter is 9 and she's looking forward to it. We usually only play Mario games on her Nintendo, but Astro's Playroom was one PS5 game she liked.

LOL, I died laughing when Red showed up to challenge Cloud. I love how each area has more detail to it, issue is you spend hours on the side quests.

Yeah that doesn't change.

It is pretty amazing how often they added things in the game that I didn't know I wanted (the entire seventh infantry sequence in upper Junon) but can't imagine not having them now.

NGL though, theres more than a few things that they added in that I wish they hadn't. I think you've gotten through most of my least favorite parts of the game already (really, the sheer volume of forced side quests in chapter 7 and 8) but theres something pretty late game that is/was infuriatingly annoying and completely unnecessary which is completely unrelated to side content. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there.

Ch 9 (which is the best example of them expanding on the OG and nailing it, even more so than Junon IMO) and 10 are awesome.

I might be the only one, but I would pay hand over foot for as many sequels as necessary for an FF8 remake. Fix Squalls persona by making explicit many of the implicit reasons for his personality traits, same for the plot, and upgrade the battle system which was pretty good already but can be made great.
Hell yeah. Would much prefer an 8 remake over 9 which apparently is what they’re working on

I will scream from every mountain top I can find for a fleshed out Xenogears remake/remaster. I know I'm probably screaming into the void with that one, but they did just release a new Weltall figurine that's north of $250. So there's some interest somewhere.

Just finished the Cosmo Canyon chapter. Really great character development with Red XIII, was an amazing chapter.

About 70 hours of play into the game, I’ve been doing the side quests and intel you actually get some story background with it so it’s good.

Really loving this game.

Playing Kingdom Come Deliverance and loving it. Henry is a GOAT video game protagonist.

Also playing MLB 24, if only EA could make a hockey game this good.

I like sim racing and I just discovered Nascar Racing 2003 Season, or NR2003 for short. It is absolutely incredible. For those that sim race, if you are into oval, which i just started getting into, its the best for racing AI. Takes a bit of time to set up, but it's free and there is a large modding community.

Physics are great and with the AI set to 100%, they are legit good. I love GT7, but we can all agree the AI is trash which never bothered me until I found this game and now I'm like, there is no excuse for bad AI when this did a great job in 2003!

The team that made this game is the Papyrus team that now makes iRacing. I've heard iRacing is the best for oval, but I can't justify the cost per month plus the absolute EXTORTION that is every track and car you have to buy in addition.

Sorry for the rant and I know it's a niche community. Just stoked I found this to get some good oval racing.

New Kex engine Doom+Doom II source port is fantastic. Nightdive never disappoints.

Debating a PS5 this holiday season. I have a PS4 Pro but it is currently on the sim rig for GT7. Wondering if I should just buy a PS4 slim for cheap and use that for console racing and move the Pro back to the living room and skip the PS5 for another year. Just not too many games I'm interested in that aren't already on PS4. Just Demons Souls honestly. The boost in performance to the PS4 titles would be nice though.

I am a simracer so appreciate the post, Bud. My driving games are ACC (crushes GT7) and Dirt Rally 2.0 / EA Sports WRC on PS5. I get by with a Logitech G29 as that's about as expensive as I want to get. PS5 has 60 fps for ACC for example while PS4 has 30.

ACC is in my opinion the best racing game ever made and I have been playing them regularly since Super Monaco GP II on Sega Genesis.

I haven’t gotten this new update for WRC, but at least EA did right and just made it a dlc instead of releasing a new game at full price.

I am not an oval guy, though so YMMV.

Somebody give me some good turn based strategy for PS5 please.
Not strictly turn-based but I recommend Crusader Kings 3 and Mount &Blade 2: Bannerlord.

I hear ya, bud. I have, admittedly, not played ACC. I played Assetto Corsa though and honestly kinda hated it. If the object of a game is to be fun, that shit was the antithesis. Haha

Good physics I guess but at the end of the day I just couldn't believe that lack of anything to really do. I know modders have done a bunch of stuff though.

GT7 is a great game and while the physics aren't as extreme as AC it's near as makes no difference and has options besides just racing online. Which I plan to do soon. I have a T300. Good wheel. G29 is great too. I can't justify the cost of the DD wheels. Haha

Love Dirt Rally though. Those are the best Rally games in my opinion.

The T300 is a good wheel. I can’t justify the cost of a DD wheel either.

I have a decent amount of videos of ACC PS4 and PS5 on my YouTube channel if you want to see what it looks like on both. Fantastic AI l, I mostly play locally v. AI than online.

PS4 Mt. Panorama:

PS5 Mt. Panorama:

That Mustang GT3 is a ton of fun.

Dirt Rally 2.0 helped me through a bad time in my life. I could get lost in the challenge of a stage for a couple of hours and destress as it required total concentration.

Cheers

Man the PS5 really holds thats 60 FPS so much better. Great videos. Subscribed. Haha

I will say that I honestly don't think AC and GT7 are too far off in how they feel, except for weight. AC really does seem to convey how heavy the cars are a lot better. Even when you watch a video of it.

I've been thinking about doing a full season of one of the 80s Winston Cup series using NR2003 and starting a YouTube channel for it. Was practicing today and getting absolutely shit kicked. Haha. Need to practice. I get self conscious and that stops me from starting a channel. Silly I know. Haha

Yeah I hear that on Dirt Rally. I still play the first one. It's what got me back into sim racing. Specifically with a wheel as I didn't have one when I was younger. It's been a fairly recent resurgence for me. It so exciting and fun.
