Speaking of old school graphics and games:

Has anyone heard any updates on The Last Night?

I actually know someone who was doing some freelance art work for this game, last I heard they were aiming for 2019 as a release but the studio who was making the game ran into some funding issues.

Not sure what the latest status was, but they were supposed to have a trailer at E3 last year and because of the funding stuff it got pulled

The concept is right in my wheel house, so I really hope this isn't a game that falls into the "Whatever Happened To..." category.

This remake should have been a slam dunk and they blew it by changing the battle system. They made it look incredible then changed one of the things that defines the early Final Fantasy games. Not to mention the potential for chaptered releases which is also insulting since they will charge out the ass for each installment. I'm really disappointed about this, I was so excited for it so I can't help but be bitter.

I’m fine with changing the battle system, I’d rather them try to do new things while keeping the same feel or heart of the game rather than just updating the graphics and sending it out. I’ll with hold my judgement of how it actually plays until it comes out and I get the chance to play it

I can get behind the FF7 remake approach if they really expanded things, fleshed out certain areas, and can deliver on the concept of each chapter feeling like a game onto itself.
Sounds like that’s exactly what they’re doing with this Midgar section

anyone here play Overwatch competitively

i've outranked most of the people I know and want to know if anyone is down to clown

Absolutely agree. As noted above, it sounds like they're expanding on every facet of the game from a narrative standpoint. Because it's broken up over multiple releases, I'd love for them to incorporate a 'chose you're own quest' line in the likes of what mass effect promised. Whereby the player is forced to make meaningful decisions that would transfer over to the next game via your save file.

Otherwise, put me in the camp who just started a fresh play through of the original FF7 game for the first time since I played it on the psone. Because I was young then, I didn't appreciate the nuances of the writing. The brilliance here is that even though it is the same story that I've played, because I'm at a different point in my life, the moments and themes have a different effect on me. Really good stuff.

If anyone is interested in getting their feet back under them or practicing leveling routes for Classic WoW, Light’s Hope private server hosts opened their final fresh server on Friday called ‘Silver Hand.’

Google Lights Hope Vanilla for details. Takes some setting up, but nothing crazy.

Finally picked up Jurassic World Evolution as part of an E3 sale. Combined with some Microsoft points, I purchased the deluxe edition for about $15.

I'm enjoying it thus far.

I need to get back into Prison Architect. It was recently sold to Paradox, and they laid out a robust dev plan, so I'm excited.

Judgment (aka Judgment Eyes) out today. If you like Yakuza games (and you should because they are amazing) you should look into this one. This is like if Yakuza and Ace Attorney had a baby.

Also out today, the new Samurai Shodown, which looks great. One of my favorite fighting game franchises.

That's a good one yeah. Didn't know Paradox picked it up.

For that style of game, I really like RimWorld.

@Kupo @Rangers743 any cool EU4 campaigns lately? I'm in the mid 1600s on my first Byzantium run, it's sooooo much fun. Ottos were gone by 1500.
I have to re-install it. Been awhile since I've played and I have a new laptop. I used to go with France or Spain when I first started, but when you play that 100 times over and over you start looking for new challenges. Byzantium I tried once but I think I got destroyed early on. I think I was Portugal on my last run and went heavy into colonizing. I definitely need to get back into it though!

I've seen that, and picked it up for free, but haven't played yet. Interested in your thoughts.
I've had a lot of fun with it. Gets pretty in-depth if you build a big enough prison. Pretty good prison management game that originally started out from a very small team, and now picked up by a big dev company.

But I haven't played it in a while and I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Paradox said they're going to be releasing stuff in July (mostly bug fixes) and I hope they will eventually release new content.

It's all luck with Byzantium. Basically, you need to ally Albania and whoever else you can, get Albania to attach their army to yours and use their general as often as possible.

It's really really tough but once you get past the first 2 wars against the Ottos they just get ripped apart by all their neighbors.

RimWorld is another one I need to get back into.

It has been WAY too long haha.

Every time I play RimWorld again it's because I read about a cool new mod lmao.

Like, of COURSE I want to install an LOTR mod and make my colony Helm's Deep, where do I sign up?

Considering how much of my damn time is spent dealing with business matters, I have no idea why I am continually drawn to management games, tycoon games or builders.

Speaking of Paradox, I am very interested to see how Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 comes out.

Because if you fail in the games, it's hilarious and has no consequences
