Has us picking 7th
Screw this. No offense I'm the insane one. Even w guys hurt

You add old Carlson Washington and scumbag kucheeriv with.givimg both 1st picks this and next.
Each of unfinished Gem first round we wait 2 years for and could be mentally insane drug addicts not equipped TO BE THE ANSWER LIKE Zach Benson mentally tough like Zucker up for challenge

. If power was team w Carlson or rare leader lidstrom Power and him are top ten D pairs and Dahlin breathes SIGH AS he just wants to play hockey

You were Right in kulich he's part of answer NOW KEVYN you scum. THIS year!

Quinn is a star playing w a REFUSE TO LOSE OLD kucheeriv type. W peterka.

If we got two great guys unloading cozens for a BETTER , much BETTER player w him and first round but NO CURRET ROSTER players other than jokiharu and if we got Carlson lidstrom I don't know hockey enough right now but you guys know

Only cuzens and Byram who I really like but we only need two great Puck moving D. We have there.

No way we part w novikov. NOOOOO. HE'S WHAT WE NEED NOW. If he was 24
No.

But strbak would hurt but getting a top ten D star OVEEPAYIN star for Byram jokihsru a first and strbk. JUST no NOVIKOV no More waiting

And I'm VAINLY TYPING as if I Know Anything about the inner workings of the team.

And they score.

You’re getting way too hung up on top 6 and bottom 6. Plenty of non top line players are in the “top 6” because of fit and chemistry.

When Granato focused Cozens on defense and match ups against top centers like McDavid and Matthews two years ago, he excelled.
Well, because there is a difference in the players and in their production, and a serious one at that.

These were one-offs, can he play like this every game? Who will make him such a player? It's all a dubious theory that he will succeed.
you just mentioned adding a bunch of guys that the poster you're quoting has been banging his hand on the table to add for years....
And? I also talked about this a few years ago.

Inside you are two wolves.

1 - Lots of trades, executed by Adams
2 - No trades, Adams fired and replaced

Which scenario do you prefer? I feel like we're all sick of the majority of this roster, but do you trust the man in charge to do the right thing?
2

This season is already lost anyway and it would be better to just fire Adams and replace him with a competent GM.

When would the trade moratorium be lifted for the new GM? As long as it doesn’t apply to the coming off-season, I choose option 2.

I think Zucker will go to a contender for a 2nd. Greenway/Byrum hopefully can be moved in a hockey trade if they are not re-signing.
I would re-sign Zucker right now, especially since he has expressed a desire to do so. Baker and Fairburn are right, you should re-sign him. Fairburn has spoken to Zucker and was impressed with him as a person and what he brings to this team. He is a positive and good vet and he likes it in Buffalo, despite the situation the team is in. Even draft fan Baker said he probably wouldn't trade Zucker for a late first to a contender, since you would still have to replace Zucker on this team and that would be difficult. Of course, if they can't re-sign him before the TDL, trade him.

I don't think he will re-sign with a bottom 5 team (Sabres) even if he likes the area. It's not personal it's business-The Godfather.

At least he said it publicly and he said it with enthusiasm. You have plenty of time to do it. It's just that Zucker probably got tired of moving all the time, and Zucker also said that he likes this Lindy system and he fits in much better than in Arizona. About his family, I'm not sure, I think he's the only one here and he's divorced and has two kids.

If you're talking about me, I don't remember pounding the table for Crouse, Coleman, etc. You're going to have to show me where I did more than just an one-off comment.

I, for sure, pound on certain additions. Tuch, Fabbro, Brady Tkachuk, etc. But not those guys.

None of it's guarenteed, even any of the stuff you recommend. You're big on Crouse. We could trade for him tomorrow and he could come to Buffalo and suck.

Here's what we know: Cozens is struggling as a top 6 center playing a two-way game with offensive minded wingers. In the short sample size where he was used as a shutdown center against McDavid and Matthews, he excelled. Everything beyond that is a guess.

My whole point is to change the system to a defense-first system. Simplify Cozens' game and focus him on a Cirelli-style shutdown role. See what happens. It can't be any worse than what's happening right now.

Crouse is good on defense and PK even with this season, plus he is physical, he had good stats in the last two seasons. Probably in the worst case we will get a normal third liner, who is as useful as Greenway.

I would still try to get a top 6 C, this is important. Now of course you can try Cozens in such a role, but he continues to look bad mostly, occasionally showing good games. I'm just not a fan of Cozens and his game.

I get it. But the chances of trading for Pettersson, or any real top 6 center, are slim. Your best bets for top 6 6 additions are named Misa and Hagens. That's the nature of top line centers.

My idea is to salvage what the Sabres have into something workable, with some supporting evidence that it could work.

Well, I'm not against it, but again it's all risky, that we'll miss the playoffs again and go bankrupt. I'd like more confidence in the future. I like Hagens, Misa too, but a little less.

And what if it can't work with this coaching staff or these players? Or maybe all together. To develop Cozens in such a role, you need to be confident in another part of your team. And why Cozens, and not Kulich, for example? Ruff continues to praise Kulich for his play in the center.

Cozens played the shutdown center role for Granato two years ago for 8-10 games, including against McDavid and Matthews. And he was good at it.

So what happened? Maybe he's not good enough anymore or maybe the coaches don't see him as a player on a regular basis.

Not sure why you'd want 1. There is no saving this season. Why let Adams did the hole deeper?

#2 all the way.
