Most fans are probably tired of wasting money on this core. They constantly shit the bed at home, and now they're trying to replicate their losing streak under Krueger. This core is incredibly unlikeable. I lean toward a retool, but then I lean further toward a complete tear down because I'm tired of looking at their faces, haha.
They wanted more accountability and folded under the pressure. They were already mentally fragile. The fans hurt their feelings plenty of times. Ruff wanted so badly to turn this ship around, but the players don't want it half as bad, and that's why they're sinking this low.
Why would other GMs make those trades with the Sabres?
Why would a GM make a trade? Because hockey? Did I say today? I said plan for 2025. It can be deadline, or offseason, or if the mood strikes here and now. Petterson is unhappy, those trades are always 1 player for 3 pieces or so. VAN gets rid of someone who wants out and can get 3 good assets. Obviously he isn't being moved during season, someone else might be.
I doubt EPete forces his way out of Vancouver to come to Buffalo. He has started playing better lately and I doubt they move him.
This is how you get Pettersson. Power is the type of player other GMs will salivate over and he’s completely expendable here.
