I think they want Power
They won't even smell Power.

Man, people are so fixated on Crouse that they don't see other good players like him, some of whom could have been signed to UFA for free on a reasonable contract. Crouse is a physical player, but not so much now, his scoring has gone down, I wouldn't even trade Quinn for him now, let alone Power. I was reading the Utah board recently and saw quite a few comments about how unhappy they were with Crouse's play.

I'd be more interested in a guy like Kesselring from Utah, but with Durzi and Marino injured, he's probably not very available right now.

a zucker type RHD would be nice, I don't think we can afford a premium RHD salary wise without moving one of the big 3 D (Bryam will be getting a huge raise).

This team still needs a 2C, preferably a playmaker.

It's a very difficult task, a veteran who is good on defense, good in the room, with a decent contract, and maybe without NTC/NMC. There are almost none, there are always some obstacles.

This team still needs a 2C, preferably a playmaker.
I think it's easier, plus you have to look at guys who can be 3C now, but have potential to be 2C. McLeod is so good right now, he can be either 3C or 2C. We just have to get three good lines in the top 9, we're not there yet.

It Will be a mistake handing him s big contract for playing good for just a smal amount of time and why should they ?

Vibes are high. I think KA should go out & try to acquire a reliable partner for Power
The time to do that was in the offseason when Marino became available. Now, we need to wait for a top-4 RD to shake loose, and teams aren't going to give those up until they're in seller mode. I assume it'll be a couple of months before one shakes loose. I'd be happy to be wrong, though.

Meanwhile, the team needs to heal up and continue finding ways to win. Let's hope this isn't the best version of this team. I have to believe Ruff is not happy with the way Joki is playing given he's already benched him for a while once. I'd bet good money he wants his Jay McKee who is a PK savage and brings stability to a pair.

With 14 points in their last 10 games, the Sabres are t-2nd best in the NHL over the last 10 games played.

Only Toronto's 15 points is better. NJ, Winnipeg, and Colorado are the other teams who have also gone 7-3-0 over their last 10.

If the Sabres can get a win vs Minnesota on Wednesday, the vibes should be sky high heading into American Thanksgiving.

I know people were so quick to open the bank for JJ, but I'm a little concerned with how he has performed without Tage.

0 goals, 2 assists, -4 in 5 games. I also think he has looked invisible.

Don't get me wrong, I really like him as a player, but what kind of price tag would be on a line without Tage?

You can never judge a player merely on a small sample of bad games or a small sample of good games.

Also, you cannot judge a player completely outside of the context of usage and linemates. At least, his agent won't be down with that kind of a thing.

If he keeps up his play he will get a significant raise.
You either pay or trade him, there is not much choice.
It's too early to say, it depends on how he finishes the season and the team as a whole, what kind of contract he will be looking for. Adams has shown himself in different ways when it comes to extending RFA.

That has not been the way Adams has operated with his extensions to Samuelsson and Cozens.

It's funny how you focus on those two alone.

The same process that led to those extensions were the ones that led to extensions for Thompson, Dahlin, and Power.

Adams felt that those were the core guys he wanted to move forward with and he locked them all up long term.

The question with Peterka will be whether Adams views him as a core guy for the next 6+ years. Or, if he doesn't.

And if he doesn't, it will either be bridge him or deal him.

I like JJ but roght now he is not a player who can single-handedly carry the line or make a difference, I think it is too early to talk about his contract.

I don't really mind, but it will look a little weird to some other people. It's funny that ROR doesn't have any trade protections in his contract.

I would also kick the tires on Rossi, I think he would be a very good 2C for us. Local journalist Wild said that Guerin/Hynes for some reason might make Rossi available, maybe because of Yurov, maybe because of something else. I watched game Wild vs Flames yesterday, I really liked Rossi's game.

The Wild's 23 year old first line center? I'm smashing x for doubt.

The biggest concern for me is the lack of playmaking forwards. They are not consistently generating enough chances yet, it mostly goes through the blueline which makes them vulnerable.

Cozens, Quinn, Peterka will all improve but they are still have not shown much in the way of playmaking. It's mostly puckhandling, agility and a good shot. They are not Olofsson-level of standing around waiting for the puck obviously but none of them can drive a line and I'm not seeing them developing in that direction.

Not sure about Benson but his combination of small size and not that fast means he tends to get shut down pretty quick. McLeod is mostly just fast and on the lower end of everything else.

Other than Thompson which is an offensive all-round force Tuch is really the only well rounded forward in my view.

Well, that’s what journalist Wild (Russo) wrote.

It's the same as if Lance Lysowski wrote that they don't like Cozens.

Matthew Barzal would be the perfect player here with our wingers.

Dahlin and Thompson were both bridged.

Except if Cozens was centering their first line and producing at a 70 point pace.
What does this have to do with the news?

And then he scored 47 points and now the pace is not 70 points, although again this has nothing to do with it. I just gave an example of how the news about Rossi looks from the outside. This is not Eklund rumors, but a reliable local reporter.

Connor Murphy is just sitting there waiting for us.
