In the game with LA I will be interested to keep an eye on Spence, he could be an interesting option for the top 4 RD.

Why are we still relying on guys like Joker and Bryson when there is someone like Connor Murphy who we could trade for. I am pretty sure Chicago would listen and a 2nd round pick would probably do it. At 31 there is no way Murphy fits into Chicago's long term plans.
With RD Jones going down week-to-week, I'd assume they still want to have some adults in the room so the season doesn't REALLY go further south. And he does have a 10 team NMC.

We will give them back Jokiharju if they want it. It's really just a question of price and M-NTC, although we have no information about what teams are there.

Some Vegas fans have indicated he is the player keeping Korczak out of the lineup. That's about it.
One could also ask about Korczak.

There's a former 40 goal winger with some familiarity with the franchise who has been demoted to 4th line in Edmonton if we're really desperate.

I mean, we aren't THAT desperate.

Are we?
There's a former 39 goal winger with some familiarity with the franchise who was a healthy scratch for Chicago.

Its semantics....Getting the player is what matters. They can have Samuelsson, Joker, Clifton, take their pick

It's the AAV that they seem to be interested in shifting. Korczak is on an $850K AAV deal vs. Whitecloud's $2.75M AAV. *shrug*
Maybe, I think it would be possible to get one of them. How do other teams find deals like that.

6th for Marino

4th for Kovacevic

I mean, Kovacevic was first a waiver claim by the Habs from Winnipeg. Opportunity is part of it. Having quality pro scouts is too.

Marino was because he wasn't going to sign with the Oilers so they got something for him. Buffalo has tried that too but it didn't work out.

And I'm not sure either is a slam dunk Top 4RD acquisition, some of these targets seem like making a change just to make a change..and personally not too interested into locking into Whitcloud for 3 1/2 more years when he might just be a 'Clifton'.
I completely disagree with you. Why the Devils saw value in a guy from Montreal who wasn't a top 4 player. Why Zito adds great players like Forsling and others sometimes for next to nothing or at a bargain price. Pittsburgh saw value in Marino. There are many such examples. You have to be able to work, and not make excuses and wait 5 years for a legit top 4 RD to come on the market.

You have to be able to find these players, like Florida, Carolina, New Jersey do.

Look at Eric Robinson. How great Chatfield is playing at top 4 RD. I suggested signing Noesen in the offseason. How many more years are we going to wait for a top 4 RD? We need to work, not use "difficult time of year to trade" as an excuse.

I don't think those so much saw value but more took a chance on those guys. Whose to say those guys would be as good here.

I agree Adams needs to take some risks but it's also not that easy to add top 6 forwards or top 4 D. I also think they believed that having an NHL experienced coach would get the top 6 to improve. The talent is there, they have shown it, it's about being consistent.

Either teams don't want to give them up or they don't want to come here. I loved this offseason they had. They fixed the bottom 6 and added a veteran in Zucker that can still play. Plus the trade for McLeod has been a good one.

But they try and add, Adams doesn't. I don't care that Adams added a third line, yes, he did a great job with that, but what didn't he add. Where is Power's partner? Not to mention that Dahlin hasn't had a mentor in 6 years in the NHL. You call that a good job?

He bullied Levi at the start of the season and only now sent him to the AHL.

Is our top 6 good? Our second line isn't working, he decided to bet on kids and screwed up. Just because he added Zucker and McLeod, you can't turn a blind eye and turn away from what he didn't do to get the team to the playoffs. This is Adams' fifth season as GM and he hasn't done much.

Sure...and Murphys families pick may be to stay in Chicago for the nxt 18 months and go from there...yea, we don't know either way.
Once Samuelsson is healthy I actually think Murphy for Samuelsson seems like a good trade for both teams.

Perhaps Buffalo is on the no trade list but its still worth a try convincing players to play here.

No he hasn't but he has tried to upgrade the top 4 and top 6 with Pesce and Nekas and both declined. You guys don't get it, the type of players that you guys want DON'T WANT TO COME HERE.

What the hell? There are a ton of players in the NHL, and most of them are not under a trade protection. You don't get it?

Even if he couldn't get Necas and Pesce, there aren't any other players in the NHL? Should we just leave those positions as is and smile in the press? "Well, I tried." Go get Marino from Jersey, go get Kovacevic from Montreal for cheap. Try other options. We have a ton of assets, Rochester is overflowing with prospects, picks, some of the players on the roster. Stop making excuses for this clown, it just pisses me off.

One tries for five years, others do it.

Wow he is really going to move the needle in our top 6. Trading for guys like that is change for the sake of change. You need difference makers in the top 6. Those guys is more of the same.

This team needs the elite top 6 guys.

Dude, he's a top 4 RD who got Jersey in the 4th round and looks really good, plays 20 minutes.

Why do we need the elite? Maybe we just need a top 6 forward who scores more than 1 goal in 17 games? Or maybe a 2C who at least thinks with his head during the game, and not a dog chasing a ball, think about it in your spare time.

Nobody is saying to not try, its that there is no guarantee any of these dart throws are guaranteed to work out like you say they will. Hell, we have a guy in Joker who is likely a lot like most of these guys in the big picture, so some GM is going to look like a genius when they go get him and slot him in with a solid partner on a good team, yeah?

We aren't FLA, CAR or NJ...trade protections matter whether we like it or not, then there are the 'outside the box' guys you crave...and none are guaranteed to 'fix' the slot next to Power unless it's a truly proven Vet who can perhaps help steady him (while its more than likely that time and maturity are what's going to 'fix' him and not necessarily his partner.)

Harping on this day after day doesn't change anything, we all get it.
