The 2024-2025 Roster Thread

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
Nobody is saying to not try, its that there is no guarantee any of these dart throws are guaranteed to work out like you say they will. Hell, we have a guy in Joker who is likely a lot like most of these guys in the big picture, so some GM is going to look like a genius when they go get him and slot him in with a solid partner on a good team, yeah?

We aren't FLA, CAR or NJ...trade protections matter whether we like it or not, then there are the 'outside the box' guys you crave...and none are guaranteed to 'fix' the slot next to Power unless it's a truly proven Vet who can perhaps help steady him (while its more than likely that time and maturity are what's going to 'fix' him and not necessarily his partner.)

Harping on this day after day doesn't change anything, we all get it.
You are looking for excuses, it is noticeable. For this to work, you have to try. Adams has scouts, an analytical department that he hired, an experienced AGM. You have to be able to work, and not look for excuses.

Trade protection doesn't matter if THE PLAYER HAS NO TRADE PROTECTION TO begin with. Most players don't have trade protection, it's just that Zito, Fitzgerald and Tulsky are good and Adams is bad, that's the only difference. I don't agree that only a trusted vet can help Power. Just a reliable partner, be he 23 or 30. Then we should be aiming for Florida, New Jersey and Carolina, and not putting the youngest team on the ice and hoping that they make the playoffs.

It will change soon, you'll see.

No he hasn't but he has tried to upgrade the top 4 and top 6 with Pesce and Nekas and both declined. You guys don't get it, the type of players that you guys want DON'T WANT TO COME HERE.
Players don't want to come here in large part because of Adams and his 5 years of failure.

There were a lot more upgrades other than just Pesce or Necas available this summer.

Didn't Adams say he wasn't in the market for a top4D since we already had Joki, Dahlin, Power and Byram?

Lance saying that Tage practiced on the top line but was not on a PP unit, calling in question whether he would play tomorrow.

Players haven’t wanted to come to Buffalo for 25 years. It ain’t new.

Not that it will be easy with him. LA tightened up since that early game. They're giving up a lot less in terms of shots and chances.

It's kind of weird, he trained with everyone, but not on the PP? He can't shoot?

I hope.

What's the list of players there? Who has access? In the tags I only saw Bunting, Nyqvist and Bjorkstrand. Of these three, I'm for Bjorkstrand, especially since I suggested him as an option not long ago. Excellent forechecker, had a solid last season.
I dont see him getting UFAs st enf of yrsr or 1× ur yo UFAs. If he gets one its not costing a firdt.

Other factor is roster. If he acquires a player, someone else gets exposed to waivers.

If Quinn is not waiver exempt still then they dont have much toster flexibility

Ideally they want a 13/7/2 roster where they could call him players as needed

To do that thry likely nerf to trsde Byram/Joker and/or a roster F ( UFAs, Krebs, another 23 man roster F)

I dont see them trading their 1st unless they are getting as young player with term/ team control who is 25 or younger like the McLeod/ Savoie trade

Well you always have injuries like Greenway now, so Quinn doesn't have anywhere to go except the press box if he keeps playing like this. I think Bjorkstrand is a good target.

Not sure if he was after Strome, maybe his brother Dylan?

I think Garland and ROR are unrealistic.

My any options from this list are Granlund, Zegras and Frederic.

Crazy request:

Sabres for Red Wings Gravy Boat trade. The wife and I are going to the Red Wings game against Boston on Saturday and if we get there early enough we should each get a Red Wings Zamboni gravy boat. I would rather have a Sabres one. So if you and your spouse go to the Sabres gravy boat game in Buffalo and end up with two Sabres gravy boats I'd like to trade one Red Wings one for one Sabres one.
