One thing that stood out to me today - our D still sorely lacks that really imposing presence on the back end that just consistently out-muscles their opponents along the wall. Calgary had a few guys doing this and it's just so needed if/when we make the playoffs.

Honestly i don't see how he gets to us. SJ, Chicago, or Anaheim will snag him.
Even if a bunch of teams pass, I don't see him gettin by Utah just before BUF with their RD injuries.
He'll fetch something in a trade, might not be much but it will be something...

If Byram is indeed flipped for a forward the return should be top notch. 18 points in 33 games as a Sabre (45 point pace) and is only 23 the entire season. And he clearly has a lot of untapped potential. Glad Mitts is doing well but if Byram reaches that next level you’re talking about a 50-60 point guy…. Having Dahlin, Power and Byram is an insane top half of your D corps.

Well, in theory we could retain 50%, but still probably not much. As long as we have cap space, we don't necessarily have to rush into a trade unless it's for a player who will improve us right now.
Makes me wonder what is out there in the private space about him that we don't know.

The 2.5M salary was the reason most think Edm and some other clubs will not. Although they could come back for a trade after (if unclaimed) if St Louis will pick up some of that as @Fjordy said.
I like the way Bryson has been playing too. But how long will it last ?
Next 6 games are very winnable. If Boston is on the outside looking in, I wonder what the ask for Carlo is. Kulich+Rosen+Johnson is a solid offer I think...

Overpay for D at 2nd pair. Trading with Boston is not the easiest thing to do unless it's a minor move or a dumb Taylor Hall who only wants go to Boston.
