My tinfoil hat theory is that the stingy spending is because Terry wants a run at McDavid when the chance comes

I had the same feelings about Quinn.I’m willing to pay the pound of flesh to get someone in here but I dont think I’m willing to give up Benson. Anybody 21 and under + any pick but not Benson.
I really think Benson is gonna be high high end.
I think Quinn pulls himself out of whatever is going on stillI had the same feelings about Quinn.
The game isn’t just about offense…and these particular metrics are not an adequate way to evaluate a defenseman, even if you didn’t have such a low sample size.Lets talk about our D pairings.
Of D-pairs with at least 100 minutes this season:
Dahlin-Joker and Sammy-Cliffy are 14th and 15th best in the entire league by xGF%
View attachment 925036
On the other hand Byram-Power are the 4th worst in the league.
View attachment 925038
If we look at actual goals
8th and 17th best
View attachment 925040
11th worst

But what does it all mean Basil?
Dahlin-Joker are playing well and getting good results
Byram-Power playing poorly, but getting good results (good luck)
Sammy-Clifton playing well but getting poor results (bad luck)
I do too, but not sure it’ll be this season.I think Quinn pulls himself out of whatever is going on still
They also didn't want to give Eichel his desired surgery and then he went on to win a Stanley Cup.Wish I could just move on from our GM when I'm disappointed in him....
all jokes aside our doctors knew his shoulder was shot and thats a primary reason or so I believe.
Eichel demanded a trade before his neck was hurtThey also didn't want to give Eichel his desired surgery and then he went on to win a Stanley Cup.
That's not the point like at all.Eichel demanded a trade before his neck was hurt
So your point is that we should’ve kept Savoie because our doctors suck then? That's not the point like at all.
The point is our doctors don't know their head from their ass because Eichel went and got his surgery done and then won a Stanley Cup and hasn't lost any bit of form.So your point is that we should’ve kept Savoie because our doctors suck then?
I don’t like Terry or the interior of this org but I wasn’t giving a guy who demanded a trade an unproven surgery option on an NHL player while we were on the hook for 80 million dollarsThe point is our doctors don't know their head from their ass because Eichel went and got his surgery done and then won a Stanley Cup and hasn't lost any bit of form.
You dont think he wins the cup if he got the surgery recommended by the Sabres Drs?The point is our doctors don't know their head from their ass because Eichel went and got his surgery done and then won a Stanley Cup and hasn't lost any bit of form.
xGF% takes both offense and defense into account the same way that GF% does. The game isn’t just about offense…and these particular metrics are not an adequate way to evaluate a defenseman, even if you didn’t have such a low sample size.
I think we’re better off with the eye test at this point. None of the defensemen are having amazing seasons so far, and some of them are disappointing when compared to expectations
I do too, but not sure it’ll be this season.
only 5?Remarkable that five years of building led to this
wins in 4 of the first 11 games
If they move Byram for a lesser forward than Mitts....
The point is our doctors don't know their head from their ass because Eichel went and got his surgery done and then won a Stanley Cup and hasn't lost any bit of form.
Why allow a guy to develop in the AHL when you can put him in the NHL when he's not ready for it and completely destroy his career before it even begins? It's absolutely insane.Send Levi to the AHL, trade for a cheap goalie, stop torturing him and ruining his career.
Remember how Miller played three seasons in the AHL after college before becoming a regular in Buffalo? That's the path to success for Levi.Remember when miller cried after being torched by Detroit? It’s a path to success

I think it’s the other way around. A few games where they helped generate goals or were on the ice for goals scored has skewed them into the good for some posters. It’s interesting because I wonder if a few games are tanking OP and Bo. Feels like they’re either great or rough and no in between.
The odds *ARE* against him. Most sports medicine dr said this was very risky surgery for pro athletes and the risk if they get hit again.
Great he made it out ok bu tg odds were against him
