That's can't be the whole sequence. Dahlin was pissed about something.

I'd like to see some of that out of Dahlin during a game.

He plays like that during games. Doesn't have a reputation for it, he throws some greasy hits from time to time.

Dahlin is the team captain now. You just don't do that. Even if Krebs is being an asshole.

There are other ways to handle it.

But Rasmus is young so growing pains I assume.

I'd assume Krebs didn't pay up his golfing losses :)

I get on Krebs as much as anyone, thought he should been shipped out this summer, hated the extension. BUT I liked his game the other night, and his metrics were good, but he's not Marchand and I feel for his jaw or orbital at some point.

I had this come across my Twitter feed today.

EDIT: also if anyone knows the reason for this let me know. Was it an homage? Did they not have uniforms? Was it just a pre-camp get together?

Those Bottlecaps were old Buffalo Bisons AHL jerseys. I want to say that they were waiting for opening night to reveal the brand new uniforms, but tbh, I was just a little kid and don't remember.

Yea I know they were the AHL jerseys. I just wanna know the context behind using them.

Regardless they’d be a cool throwback to use the next time the Sabres play in a winter classic (because we know the NHL will not stop doing outdoor games).

Kinda seems like Dahlin asserting his dominance by kicking the weak link out of the pack. This is nature, and we all know Krebs doesn’t belong. If I were KA, I’d be looking to unload Krebs to send a message.

The team needs to fight and cross the boundries of what is ok more often. I want our opponents to be scared. Tampa has repeatedly injured our players without any sort of consequence.

A psycho captain that retaliates disproportionately is just what I want and I've been missing the violent side of Dahlin. He was much more of a Josh Allen as a 16 year old and seemed to love the bloodsport part of the game.

He apologized to Krebs after but they should both be pumped about this and hopefully start a full brawl. I want some old testament style hockey.

Dahlin is just giving Krebs some practice fighting seeing as how Krebs is willing to go with anyone.

After that twirley-dance Krebs got into last game, he's not going to scare anyone. Appreciate the spirit, but he should keep his gloves on. If he gets his hockey straight, there's no reason he can't grow into a bona fide weasel that gets under the other team's skin.

Now about those blind passes . . .

No PPGs yet, 8th lowest shooting percentage in the league. Things can only get better. win the next three, get healthy, 5-5 at the end of October, big picture that's a win with a new coach and early season adversity.

They're dudes. Both have probably forgotten about it by now

Fights between teammates happen every season. I can’t recall a single time it was foreboding of anything. The only reason anyone cares is because the Sabres are an easy target to punch down on.

Some encouraging stuff in the most recent Athletic article:

Most of Buffalo’s underlying advanced metrics have been encouraging through four games. At five-on-five, the Sabres are eighth in expected goal percentage, fourth in scoring chance percentage and high-danger scoring chance percentage and fifth in Corsi percentage.

For what it’s worth, the Sabres aren’t just laying hits on each other. Though it’s early, the Sabres lead the NHL in hits per 60 minutes at just over 27.5 hits per game. It’s been a long time since Buffalo was among the most physical teams in the NHL. But Ruff emphasized it in practice and in the acquisitions the Sabres made in the offseason.

What’s notable about this is that it’s not just the new additions who are throwing the body around. Newcomer Beck Malenstyn leads the way with 14 hits, but the next 11 players in hits are all returners from last season. This is a clear mentality shift under Ruff, and players are buying in early.

Those Jersey games were stinkers, but if they can stack some wins in this next stretch it will be a solid start.
