Guelph isn't very good this year.....I expect Arliksson to be in Abbotsford by mid-March......but at 6'6" and 235, he'll be 'big' even by AHL standards.
Jockey in a Kentucky Derby?Make that 2 goals on the evening for Vilmer Alriksson !!! Is there anything this kid can’t do
Well, he'd still be considered 'under-sized' as an NBA center.Make that 2 goals on the evening for Vilmer Alriksson !!! Is there anything this kid can’t do
Olivier Rioux - does he have an NBA future?Well, he'd still be considered 'under-sized' as an NBA center.
I’ll be damned, the kid isn’t from Sweden and they picked him anyway. On Mynio:
On a phone call before the camp, the under-20 team’s new head scout, Al Murray, a two-time Stanley Cup champion and former director of scouting with both the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Los Angeles Kings, called him “the most improved player in junior hockey over the last two years.”
His Lightning, Murray said, “didn’t have him ranked anywhere near high enough” at the time.
Good article that articulates a lot of what I mentioned earlier. He had to learn to be a role player and defend and play PK behind a stacked defense, and now that they have graduated and he’s the veteran, he’s really getting to shine. On Mynio:

Also Sansonnens for the Swiss. Is it just Willander and Mynio in the tourney for us this year?
Ricky Bobby traded from last place (10th) in the Western Conference Guelph Storm to the 8th place in the Eastern Conference Brampton Steelheads
Not actually sure if this is a great thing. He'd been on a nice roll getting top-line minutes next to Luchanko and now he's going to a team where Martone-Misa-Rehkopf take up virtually all the prime offensive minutes.
Yeah - while being on a team that is (moderately?) better might have some development opportunities, he really seemed to be hitting his stride in his current role.
