Oh man, somehow I thought he was a RD, yeah we got way too many LD in the system, need some RD depth after Willander
Refreshing to have an actual strength on a position for once. This is a good group of defenseman prospects. I think the expectation to have to be that at least two of them become NHL regulars. But I would not be surprised if 4 of them become NHL regulars.

Willander should be a top 4 guy, dEP 3rd pairing and KK a 6/7 guy.

I think that should be the expectation. Maybe KK and EPD switch spots. But it wouldn't surprise me if a few of the prospects take further jumps.
Yeah the way how KK and dEP are adapting to the A is super promising.

Willander
McWard
Celebrini
Alcos

It's a bit lacking for sure.
Man McWard is like a 7 guy at best, kinda sad how shallow our RD pipeline is

kudryavtsev is a top 4 or bust guy. he doesn't have the size or pk util to stick on the third pair

i think he'll make it tho
From Tocchet's perspective, he may not have the size to play in the top 4 (yeah, he's about the same size as Hronek, but still ...).
I think he'll be part of the package moved before the deadline.

Man that’s a high bar, top4 or bust. I am hoping at the very least he can carve out like a Brannstrom type of role.

Don’t think he has enough value to be moved in the deadline

He doesn't have to have much value—just enough to be part of a deal. Josh Bloom, Jonathan Myrenberg, etc.

I don’t think we are as desperate to make those small deals anymore.
I think he'll be a low-value item in a bigger deal. Some other team will value him more than the Canucks do. Especially if he climbs a bit higher in points for rookie defensemen (currently 7th).

But really, what do I know?

He doesn't have the size (he doesn't look small out on the ice at all) but he's very much a two-way guy.

I am actually surprised that they listed Kudryavstev as 5'11" he doesn't look undersized at all.

I don't ever believe those heights that they list players at anymore haha.

If even one of the LDs in the system becomes a 2nd pairing guy that would be huge especially given none of them are even 2nd round picks let alone 1st.

I guess Mynio would be the best bet as of now based on how he's tracking but he also hasn't turned pro yet so we're still a long ways away from that.

And I don't think anyone would be surprised if one of these guys was to be a part of the package we send off in a trade for a D-man this season. It's true none of the guys on D are A prospects other than Willander but it's still nice to have some decent depth in the cupboard.

Patterson, Alriksson, (both underway) Mynio, and Alcos are in action this afternoon.

What's happening today with the NCAA guys?

A little disappointed by Willanders lack of shot generation this year especially with Hutson gone.

I get the roster has been weakened but 19 shots through 15 games is not what i would hope for.

Charlie MacAvoy draft plus 1 had 2 per game and Dante Fabbro even ran at 2 shots per game. Was really hoping to see a big uptick in his aggressiveness on puck this year but it hasn't really materialized from the numbers. Feel free to enlighten me.

I hope so, I really want to see him in the AHL and see if he can take that step up. They need to move out some LHD in Abbotsford though.

It would be great to see something like this by the end of the season:

Krudryavstev - McWard
Pettersson - Willander
Dorrington - Woo
Mynio

Silovs
Young
I think Willander might be good enough to play up on the real Canuck team.

Been following the Canucks for more decades than I'd care to remember......but I don't remember a time when this franchise had so many prospects in the system who look like they can actually play.

Obviously not all of them will make it, but I really hope they don't deal them before we really find out how good they'll be. Kids like Wilander, Pettersson, Kudryavtsev, Mynio and Lekkerimaki look like money in the bank right now.

But I guess when a team wants to 'go for it' , there's a temptation to sacrifice some of these kids. But a couple of them could really end up biting the Canucks in the butt--like giving up on Forsling and McCann.
