With ASP we get defensive version of Datsyuk, will be my favorite Red wings in about 3-4 years.
With Danielson we get size and great skating.
With Berggren, Raymond, Kasper, Lombardi, Danielson and ASP we are becoming puck position team.
Hope we get couple power forwards today and I hope for Hrabal

The Danielson-Ras and ASP-Hronek comps are hilarious. At their absolute floors, you could talk me into it, but their ceilings represent elite level NHLers. I don’t think anyone ever said that about Fil or Ras. Now that being said, Rasmussen was absolutely buzzing at the end of last year, so this isn’t really a good time to use his name in a negative light.

My top 3 for #9 are Dvorsky, Wood, Barlow.
Top 3 for #17 are Willander, Musty, Hzonek.

Not going to pick all the rest, but would like at least one of Edstrom, Wahlberg, Nelson, or Fisker Molgaard with the three 2nds.
Review for Day 2. Big rip that at 9 and 17 could have had 2 of my 3 picks for 9. Go Danielson and ASP, prove me wrong.

Edstrom is already gone from my hopes for 41-43. But I'm sticking with Wahlberg, Nelson, and Fisker Molgaard. Maybe add Ziemmer.

I really get the frustration. We all get tunnel vision on a few players the consensus always says are more skilled. Yzerman and his crew just saw it differently. I think Danielson will make us happy.

With his physical build and age as one of the older first time draft eligibles, I think the only thing that will make me a little frustrated is if we aren't able to have arguments about whether he should be in Detroit or Grand Rapids to start the 2024-25 season.

I hope he blows the doors off of the WHL next year and alleviates the concerns that people have with offense, because I think he has that ability.

You have to love what Steve is doing. Hoarding picks and prospects, setting the table for a long competitive dynasty. Not just a playoff sniffer, but an organization loaded with assets at premium positions. If you can’t tell by now, he’s laying his foundation for a team that beats you 2-1 or 3-2 night in and night out. Not the one who beats you 6-4 and then has to cough up a bag of money to pay his big point producers. He wants all 4 forward lines and all 3 defensive pairings rolling, with few weaknesses. To do it this way takes a ton of time and patience, but he’s willing to stick it out because he’s laser focused on that vision.

Nilsson, Wahlberg and Brindley are the 3 guys I really want in the 2nd. If the Wings can get 2 of them I will be incredibly happy.

The second is likely going to be what makes this draft important in 5-7 years. Look at Tampa under SY--sure Stamkos, Vasi, Hedman were first rounders, but Kuch, Point, and Cirelli were the pieces that made them Cup winners.

Of the players still left, I would rank them:

Wahlberg
Fisker-Molgard
Nilsson
Brzustewicz

with
Pekarcik and Lardis as home-run swings

I just hope I'm alive to witness the dynasty.

Has anybody actually said their ceilings represent elite level NHLers?

Danielson's floor is 3c and his ceiling is Patrice Bergeron. He's a safe pick. Between him and Kasper we will likely have a 2c and a 3c within four years. Neither will likely be elite at their position.

Pellikka's ceiling is Erik Karlsson and his floor is Adam Almquist.

Teams like the options available and don't feel the need to trade up to get their guy. At least that's my hunch.

ASP drawing Kris Letang and EK65 comparisons, who many had labeled as the best d-man in a loaded draft. Yet his ceiling is a middle pairing Joe.

Danielson a 6’2” speedy C with hands, high IQ, and an already sophisticated two-way game, taken #9OA (again in a loaded draft). Led his low-scoring and very average WHL team in points as a draft eligible. A guy Connor Bedard says was the most difficult guy to play against…

I think you get the point. Everyone in the top 20-25 of this year’s draft has an elite ceiling. That can’t be said about most drafts.

I was hoping to get a couple more centers with these 3 picks coming up. It's looking like maybe not even 1 will still be there unless you want to reach. I don't see Wahlberg still there.

There are a lot of good C options still. Molgaard, Nilsson, Heidt, Brindley, Nelson, etc. At least one of them will be available at our pick.
