I wonder if there is something going on with Brady Skeji? No frontline defensemen have moved yet today and there have been inquires. Perhaps a trade for assets that can be flipped. My Minnesota guy told me a while ago that the Wild really liked Skeji.

How has management not had this discussion with Hank already?!

I had (wrongly) assumed they had discussed what his role would be going forward. Now I'm a little concerned about what the plan is for Hank and his contract (if any)...

They have of course talked (which also have been reported) with him and checked the interest of other teams -- there is none.

Vets with terms going downhill are not traded and haven't been traded in years. Why would Hank be an exception? Toronto had to give up a 1st to get rid of Marleau (who maybe wouldn't have waived for many teams, bust still). We couldn't move Shatty with 50% retention. GMs are not doing each other any favors, that has been very clear for a long time.

I just think that for a long time, finding a taker for Hank without giving up a 1st hasn't been easy.

We have DeAngelo, Strome, Lemieux, Fast all due for extensions this offseason with roughly 9m in space. DeAngelo (assuming he's not traded to clear cap space), will take up at least 5m, possibly up to 6

Very depressing man. Strome/Fast most likely goners if that is all the space we have

Small sample size, but so far Gauthier looks like another big body that doesn't hit enough and isnt skilled enough to make up for that. If that's the case, Carolina won the trade.

Look I'm not a huge fan of the Chris contract but the Parise contract is a back diving special and could lead to cap re-capture hell. He's also 6 years older than Chris. Really apples and oranges.
