Amazing the two teams were chasing and are what 4 and 6 pts ahead of us for the final two wildcard spots are blowing futures to add right now and we’re about to blow it up.

we’re better than both those teams by a country mile for a few months now

The Panthers are a joke. Gonna basically hand the playoffs to toronto

Sucks man but tough decision and unfortunately just the way it is if kreider doesn’t accept an offer

There's no rush on Strome. I'd rather keep him now for the playoff push and then explore the trade market in the offseason
if CK is gone so is the playoff push. So if somebody gives a good offer for Strome might as well consider it

Seriously Gorton should be doing due diligence on Strome if we are gonna be real sellers right here. I am sure he is.

With these prices I would trade a BUNCH.

So long Kreider, Fast, Skjei, and pick one of Strome or Buch.

Just because a soldier isn't guaranteed to kill the enemy with every bullet fired, doesn't mean you don't give him a gun.

You give enough picks to a quality GM, something good will happen, maybe better than Kreider. They don't need a perfect record with each pick. But every additional pick improves the odds of hitting someone good.

A stockpile of prospects will produce more quality young NHL guys than a thin farm covered up by aging vets on UFA contracts.

But when does the "stockpiling" of draft picks end? That's the key question that no one on the rebuild mode can ever seem to answer. Because in a year some other UFA will be on the Rangers, two years after that even more, and so on and so on. Can you see how a team can easily fall into perennial rebuild mode? Eventually the Rangers will just have to go with the guys they have. This group as is currently constituted is pretty darn close already. It makes 0 sense to blow it up again and try and fill in pieces with top picks( which the Rangers won't get from any team who will take Kreider because they will be playoff bound teams--likely even cup contenders.) Does anyone think a number 20-30 first rounder will be a lock to develop into what Kreider offers now? That's just a slightly better odd than buying a lottery ticket if you ask me.

Brady is a different story-- they already have replacements for him in the system, Miller to name just one. He's expendable.

I think he'll get one last chance to sign. But I don't think that stops them from pressing teams for their final offers as we speak
Yes true. I was just wondering if talks completely fell apart last night or if they are just in a game of chicken right now
