Yup but They'll fall on their face next round.
Best game I've seen this year...I think.
Hawks were just gassed, shows how hard it is to go back to back. An extended offseason would do them wonders. Towes didn't look right all year, they'll be back next season.
You seriously think with Stars goaltending woes, Blues will fall flat on their faces against them? That's a pretty bold comment there D2M, will be interesting if it happens. Personally I don't think Dallas has a chance, it will be very close, and I think Blues are 1-4 against them, but playoffs are a totally different animal.
That wasn't the best game of the year, that had to be the best playoff series since 2010's Flyers versus Penguins craziness. Loving this year's playoffs!
Dallas-St Louis will be given NBC priority I bet.
You think even over Washington/Pittsburgh?
I seem to recall Kane being the clear-cut #1 pick at the time of the draft. Don't think the Hawks for one second even thought about anyone else. However, it may have been a toss-up at #2 between JVR and Turris.
There was talk back then of Kane being so good he turned Sam Gagner into a top-10 pick, which ultimately looks to be true to this day. Looking back on the 07 draft there are at least 10 players picked after Gagner who I would choose ahead of him. Heck, at the time I thought the Oilers were reaching with him at 6 due to size and lack of speed. But I do believe you're right in saying the 07 draft class was considered weak.
I recall this as well, one of the reason besides being so good at the time for Kane, is because no one really realistically challenged him throughout the year. Like it was closer between Tavares and Duchene than it was Kane and second overall.
There are stories though that Kane's Dad spent a over 10,000 dollars in development and training to help Kane not only get drafted, but to be a top 5 selection. 10K now seems SO tiny to the player he has turned into, but spending 10K for a 15, 16, 17, and then 18 year old kid is quite crazy.
