GDT: The 2016//2017 Annual #HCanes playoff #Badnwagon thread

Just came by to gauge participants feelings on joining the Oilers first playoff bandwagon since know what..

Quick summary of of what our board will be like:

-Emotionally unstable since we don't remember what playoffs is like

-If the battle of Alberta occurs it will be crazy, both in good and bad ways

-McDavid

We have him eyed as a potential pick. He seems top 5 material, but he might slip to #6 where we pick.

How is the trash talk game? If we face the Flames or a California team, tensions will be high. We require guys on the squad who can chirp with the best of them. No room for softness.

Exactly. HFCanes, we want crazy. A team first kind of guy is who we're looking for, no room for heroes or individuals.

We want an unstable but loyal chap who will be with us to the end.

I spend most of my time on hf ****posting in our gdts and talking trash on the trade board. I love nothing more than correcting a wrong opinion with facts and a condescending gif. I have no problem telling someone off, even if it earns me an infraction.

And as far as the fLames go, consider me a pyrophobe. I narrowly escaped getting killed by a house fire in late 2015. I ****ing hate fLames.


My only weakness wrt getting drafted by a west coast team would be my work schedule. I have to be in by 7:00 est most days, so if there's a marathon OT game I might have to bail out. Although strategic naps in the late afternoon could make this less of an issue.

I see what you did with the Lames. Don't worry about work, I'm a white collar professional as well. Hockey is my escape and all of us have that child like love for the game. You seem like one of us.

The hate is real with the Lames. Think Duke-UNC basketball but crazier and fans cheering for a sport where physical violence and fisticuffs are allowed. The hate is real in the Battle of Alberta. CI has chosen his allegiance to our southern enemy. He'll need to be dead to you (if conversing, chirping and degradation is a must at any interaction).

You're our guy, if you're available at 6, we're picking you. Glad to have you aboard, we're the most northern franchise in the NHL and we have a proud history. Plus, we have McDavid who you will fall in love with. He'll be McBae to you the more you watch him, even your wife (partner to be PC) will understand why he is McBae.

If you're willing to be loyal to us, we have a spot for you and it would be an honour for you to join us.

Then we'd essentially end up with one bandwagoner for ourselves, and a spy in the enemy camp.

Then why did you pledge allegiance to our enemy and take shots at the Oil, I believe "hate the Oilers" were your words previously?

If Surrounded By Ahos is on the board, I can't see HFOil passing him up. He already understands the Lames hatred, he has no prior loyalties that we know of to the Lames. He's a prospect HFOil has really taken notice to in a positive light.

You would be a liability, your chirp game could be good (if not elite) but it's too much risk given prior associations and loyalties to our enemy. Might be some character/off the ice issues as red flags.

BREAKING NEWS OUT OF CALGARY, AB: Noted HF All-Star CI, was caught in the wee hours this morning (Thursday, March 16th). He was shirtless and wearing a pair of mustard stained capris, and one fluorescent green sandal and a knee high orange sock on the other foot. He was on 17th ave. downtown, standing in line at noted Calgary late nite venue 'Tubby Dog', . His hair was a mess and he was covered from head to toe in various colors of glitter. He was seen brandishing an Olde English in one hand, and a gallon jug of apple juice in the other. When approached for comment, he was quoted as saying; 'Soon shall my dragons roost in the fruit trees of my enemies... Be warned', before taking of down a back alley and disappearing into the snow evening.

HFCanes GM, DaveG declined comment, simply stating, quote: 'HFCanes is aware of this incident, and are still gathering all the facts. We will have no comment at this time.'

Truly a bizzare turn of events for one of the most promising prospects in this year's draft. Stay tuned for more as details become available.

I hate rumours, honestly, but I heard that Surrounded by Ahos actually has a Johnny Gaudreau jersey. I'm just passing this along. I hate rumours.

This is blatantly false. Gaudreau is a decent player and all but he's tiny. His jersey would be too small for a muscular man like me who (occasionally) goes to the gym. Sometimes I even lift weights. A JG jersey on me would be like Ross from friends in that tiny shirt.
