Here's the thing AG.

Jimmy Hayes has more goals than Barkov and Huberdeau combined.

Why is that? Because he goes into areas that produce high percentage shots with great regularity and sometimes the puck finds its way onto his stick.

I think we need more of that - ESPECIALLY on the power play.

Espo and Graves made a living doing that.

kopy wil go there, and you know who i noticed did that? Rocco.

The powerplay has too much standing around and not enough energy by the players typically involved. I don't mind seeing Bergenheim out there to give him a shot.

change it up, maybe Bjugstad and Ekblad on the point, Bergy, Barkov and Hayes as the forwards as one line.

Kulikov Campbell/Jokinen at the points with a wing combo of Huberdeau, Kopecky, and Boyes. Or hell, let DMac center the line with Hubey and kopecky.

I'd rather see the team at least get some shot attempts out there and st least gain some possession time rather than watch 2 minutes of "let's skate 200 feet back and forth"

If we can split the B2B (or get 2pts out of it) and take NJD and C-Bus it will be a good set.

If anyone needs any help at "hoping" again, people on NHL radio still see 92 points as the baseline for a playoff spot

Panthers have 37 games left and would need to go 21-16 to get it. Which is 5 games over .500 where the team actually stands right now.

I actually say 94 is what is needed, but I'm willing to wager at least 2 of those 16 losses will be from overtime.

So all-in-all, just need to finish 5 games over .500 the last 35.

20 home games and 17 away not including tonight.

p.s. ignore that sportsclub playoff odds. they got Ottawa with a higher chance than Florida and they need to finish with a 22-13 or something like that with more games on the road.

Excellent analysis. 94 is alway my magic #.

So if we maintain 6 in 5, and split the last 2. Yup.

We need to put some wins together. How about a 6 game winning streak to make up for the losing streak?!?

It wouldn't suprise me if the 8th seed has 94 points or more. There are a few teams competing for McEichel and not to be a jerk but those teams are basically free points for most decent teams. I think that's why the pace for wild card teams is set so high right now.

Well a couple of things of note with the wildcard teams, which right now is between rangers, Bruins, and the Panthers.

I can't speak for how many games are left between the Rangers and the Bruins, but the Panthers have 3 left against Boston and 2 against the Rangers. So those 6 and 4 points will be at a premium and it is crucial for the trailing team (Panthers right now) to limit the 3 point games.

What I'm saying is if the Panthers indeed make a run at it, it's tough to get to a high high point total (96-98) if the Panthers don't give up points to those teams.

Good, you're alive.

We could make up for the last set with ths one and be right back in the mix.

Ha ha ya I was away with limited wifi.

We are a desperate team now.

maintaining the 6 in 5 going forward gives us 94 points a minimum to make the playoffs.

Lost to NY Rangers 3-6, playoff odds down 2.9 to 5.5%
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Atlantic/Florida.html

What happened to this team in Winnipeg, and what can be done to fix it?

This is not the same team we saw the first 40 games.

tired? demoralized? both?

Looking at that chart makes me sad. We did well for the first 40 and then.. then the jets crushed us.. I think it really hurt our team mentally.

We also had the easiest strenght of schedule in the league prior to the All-Star break. That's catching up to us.
