They go through the neutral zone far too slow. Which is what should be expected when its either Richards or del zotto doing it. Try having a guy like Hags or Gaborik bring it through center ice.

Not having a true point guy is killing them though. Richards back there is pointless. He doesn't have the shot to be a threat and he can't skate well enough to get angles to setup passes, or recover if girardi miss handles the puck.

They don't need a guy who is a great scorer back there. They need a guy with a good low hard shot who can get the puck on net through traffic. And can skate well enough to open things up.

souray would have been a good pick up in the off season but anaheim really overpaid for him in my opinion. what's babchuk up to these days?

Is a booming shot from the point really going to make it that much better though? This is a team that can't even set up let alone get shots off on the PP.

Haven't they scored almost all their PP goals on rebounds from point shots?

I mean they do only manage to get what 1 shot a power play? Having a capable point shooter may at least double that.

A booming accurate point shot would change the entire dynamic of the PP. Not only would it add something this team doesn't have in the first place, it would cause the opposing penalty killers to cover the point better allowing for more room down low/in the slot where Cally/Nash do their business. Anyone that can shoot the puck in Hartford? I wish Niemi knew how to skate. He would be the perfect #6 on this team.

If anyone in Hartford had a shot they would already be playing for the rangers lol.

Mcilrath has some potential there. Has to develop it more.

I really wish McDonagh had a shot. How useful he could be on the PP

pavel valentenko had a good hard shot. he didnt even get a sniff. russian player. enuf said. :shakehead

our best choice is still anton stralman. best combo of skating, passing, and shooting. far better choice then torts' boytoy mikey del z who continues to look kinda clueless on the pp..

5 forwards makes us look even worse.

just go with your 4 best forwards and stralman.

and macilrath has a long way to go before he would make any sense what so ever on the pp point.

Lot of problems with our PP . They can't get the puck up ice .They can't win a draw . They can't shoot one timers from the point . They can't hit the net . They stand around too much in the offensive zone .

It drives me crazy .What good is it in retaining a PP coach if we can't score ???

Even though we got one tonight, this team is too robotic and stiff with the man advantage.

Not a single PP goal from The big 3 after 2,5 hours...
Name| Cap hit |$ # in league| GP| G |A |Pts |# in league |+/- |TOI/g| PP G |A |Pts| TOI Total PP
Rick Nash | $7,800,000| #6 |13| 3 |8| 11 |#55| +8 | 21:18 | 0 |1 |1 |48:26
Marian Gaborik |$7,500,000 |#10 |13 |7 |4 |11 |#39| +2 | 19:45| 0 |2 |2| 46:35
Brad Richards| $6,666,667| #29| 13| 2 |8 |10 |#73| +5| 20:14| 0 |1| 1 |54:47
Not getting the bang for buck from our Big 3 on the score sheet. Plain & simple. There are no excuses here. Guys are getting paid extremely well to score and are not putting up acceptable numbers. YET. I readily add.

Nash has played well, Gaborik so-so and Richards has been mediocre so far IMO. But we should be getting close to the competitive point production in the league as opposed to the salary they get. Otherwise these investments are not viable.

0 PP goals for these 3 star players, with over 2,5 hours of combined PP time and during 39 different Power play opportunities, including countless 5 on 3s, is simply not acceptable. It is a disaster! Anyone disagreeing here is simply delusional.

One guy I would love to see wearing Rangers Blue and all his goals have been on the PP this year is The Big Buff in Winnepeg!

Gaborik is 12th in the league in goals...

Like i say, when Richards improves so will the power play. Until that point we are stuck with this travesty. Should make people think twice about buying him out.

Just do one-timers. I don't care who's doing it. Richards, Gaborik, Nash, Del Zotto, Staal. C'mon now.

Throw Cally and Pyatt around the net and have them bang away any rebounds if the freaking puck hits the net.

To put that in perspective, if we were to spend the entire game on the power play, we would probably get only 3 goals.
