Could mean the difference between being a top-six forward and being a tweener for Zucc. Hard to believe he'd be consistently faster than Kreider, but it's a good sign if true.

If they're skating around cones it doesn't surprise me at all.

Kreider can barely turn. He can skate straightaway better then anyone though.

Kreider must be dogging it if Zucc is beating him out :sarcasm:

Anxious to see how Staal looks. Girardi looking faster is good news. He got beat pretty badly a few times against Boston. Hrivik making this team would be interesting, rather sure he's more ready than Fast, whom I'd rather play in the A for a year.

JT Miller left the ice...hope he's not hurt too badly

We dont know the inside info on negotiations. But if he has an agent thats still pushing for a 4-6 year deal, that should be stopped immediately by the player. It ain't happening.

If they're agreed on the bridge deal and haggling over money, thats fine, and I'd expect that to be ironed out over the next couple days.

Exactly. We don't know. Why is why I choose not to stress about it. It will get done.

This is key. Kreider's size of frame gives him the pure leg power to fire up the ice, but he doesn't cut well like a Hagelin does. His center of gravity is too high.

I actually like Del Zotto and defend him to my friends and family who call him Del Zaster. He really needs to take the next step in his game. Become that offensive defenseman which the Rangers haven't had since Leetch. Those 2 players aren't in the same zip code as players but in today's NHL there is not a defenseman close to Leetch. A decent offensive D is hard to find in the 2013 NHL.

He gets a lot of criticism from a portion of the fan base, but he did score 37 points as a rookie and 41 in 2011-2012. Defensemen who can put up 40 points are not common in this league. Plus, he plays on a team with strong defensive defensemen like McDonagh, Girardi and Staal so there are a lot of NHL defensemen who are going to look worse than those guys. We are often spoiled as Rangers fans seeing such good defense from those players. The new coaching staff needs to work with him to get back to that 40 point level.

Noticed none of Trainor, Burke, Stevenson or Josh Graves here. Trainor might be with Buffalo.

From Zipay earlier:

"Brad Richards admits he lost confidence in himself and the head coach last season"

That really grinds my gears. Not that he wasn't confident in Torts, but that he's saying so now. Torts coached him to a cup and a conn smythe. Torts likely lobbied in his favor with NYR brass. Torts saw him suck night after night and kept giving him chances he didn't deserve. Most importantly, Torts isn't here anymore and Richards is coming off a horrible season that was caused, by his own admission, in large part due to his lack of conditioning. He needs to shut up, play hockey and suck less than he did last year. I don't want to hear any complaints or any scapegoating. He's in absolutely no place for that type of crap.

Wrist-Concussion
Head of a Cocker Spaniel
Spontaneous Robert De Niro Face

Totally calling him Noodles from now on. Isn't it common to have a few injuries by that age?

As long as the chicken puts his head back on this season, I don't really care what he says. At least he takes part of the responsibility.

How is our defense soft? They're literally all physical, except for Moore, which remains to be seen. None of them are psychopaths, but that doesn't make them soft as a hole.

Gross says differently
@AGrossRecord: Brad Richards says he lost confidence in himself and his coach last season. Tellingly, he never uses Tortorella's name.

A mutual friend of Brad's and Torts's should set up an intervention at a restaurant or something.

"What's he doing here?"
