im literally saying i cant believe Jeff Skinner is still in the league.

The other information was just bonus material for the boys and shows how irrelevant he is.

I know,

But how can you say "Wow! he's still in the league" though?

Such thing will usually be said about old players we don't really hear about anymore so we kind of "forget" they are still playing. A player like Jeff Carter for example.

Jeff Skinner is 31, had a 80 points season last year was on pace for a decent season (22 points in 30 games). before getting hurt.

You can find him irrelevant, I'm not going to argue that. But I don't think you can place him in the "Wow! he's still in the league!" category though.

how much is jeff skinner paying yo?

Skinner has been in the league for 12 years and will be 32 in may. by NHL standards, he is effectively an old guy. He has also accomplished very little in that time span.

I don't know about you, but i havent thought of Skinner in years.

When Gavin Bayreuther got drafted by seattle I thought that was an insane pick because the guy had spent several years in the Stars AHL world without making any progress and seemed to have no chance to be a regular nhl player. Cut to: The stars signed him AGAIN this season for depth apparently before he got hurt. I don’t get it. There’s no way they thought he had more potential than pretty much any warm body who was ten years younger

what a dum and random comparison.

career point per game averages- Nylander at 0.85 and Skinner at 0.67.

Nylander with 50 playoff appearances and 40 points, PPG of 0.8. Skinner with a perfect 0/0 in that category.

Is Buffalo being terrible for 13 years causing buffalo fans to irrationally defend Skinner?

Flames legend Mark Jankowski is still in the Preds' system, mostly in the AHL though but he did score a goal in a callup a couple of weeks ago.

I still believe he can surpass Nail Yakupov's NHL point totals before he retires and prove to the world that we did at least make a better pick than the Oilers in 2012.

Wasn't your last cup win...oh wait- dont throw stones from a glass house.

and the fact you just compared skinner to Tavares is ridiculous. Ya sure, a consistent 1b centre whos nearly PPG his entire career, just hit 1000 points and has a faceoff percentage of 62% this year is totally in the same league as Jeff Skinner.

Gotta love how basically the entire team- Skinner, Thompson, Tuch, Cozens, Power have all regressed this year compared to last- young players are supposed to get better with age, not have one mediocre season where they still miss the playoffs and call it a day. Talk about taking a lap.

Bellemare. Dude's 38 still playing when you got guys retiring at 31, 32, 33, just cause they feel like they don't have it anymore.

Right, but he only started playing hockey at age 30 or something, so he saved lots of wear and tear in his younger years.

Srsly tho, weird how late his whole nhl career has been.

Anyways, Granato somehow still has a job, because the world is a cruel and unfair place.

OP topic: who has surprised you that's still in the league?

You: Skinner, since he hasn't had a playoff appearance, and has a bad +/-.

Everyone else here: Huh? Skinner was nearly point per game last season. Of course he's still in the league.

You: (railing against the Sabres as a team) What was the thread topic again?

It would be awesome if you predictably mentioned the Coyotes now.
