Hopefully Lou can get some better pieces in the offseason. D is a huge hole. Too many passengers in this series. Learning curve for the young guys. Try gards at winger. Please no more D for him.

Oh good god no. If Gardiner isn't a dman you want on this team, just trade him.

Why can't people just be happy about how much the team have progressed in the last two years.
Could the team be better, of course. I can't wait to see the improvements this team will get in the summer and how they compete in next year playoffs.
Some players didn't show up but they were all pissed at the end. That's a strong sign that they will work extra hard and be better for next year.

Some key guys taking flack deserve it. Andersen wasn't good enough. He was garbage in this game when we needed him. Gardiner was horrific. He should be ****ing ashamed of his play in this game.

Where in the world was ****ing Matthews in this whole series? A few games you can carry your franchise player. But he has to ****ing show up once in a while. Even if he's hurt, I don't care. Guys play hurt in the playoffs and still step up. He wasn't even good in this series.

I'm going to enjoy the summer. Going to do everything in my power to stay away from hockey and enjoy the weather. God this team exists only to make people suffer. Why the hell do I get so invested in this...****

If you thought they were going to make a run this season you were delusional.

Gards probably needs to be a bit lower on the depth chart. We need better depth on D, that's for sure. Also, the forwards don't help much either. Need to be better as a 5 man unit.

I thought I heard on Leafs lunch that Liljegren isn’t playing much with the Marlies in the playoffs. If true he’s at least 2years away.

AndThe big hitter that got sent down after Zaitsev came back isn’t even dressing. Is that true?

Feel terrible for Gardiner. Regardless of his play, it is just a game and his team didn't exactly light the world on fire themselves, he's going to be feeling like **** for a very long time.
Nah. I don't think pro players dwell on this stuff. He'll take his $4,000,000 contract and enjoy life.

He's been steadily improving defensively on the Marlies

I think when he's in his prime he'll be better defensively than Gardiner
Other than tonight, I think Gardiner is actually pretty underrated defensively. He makes some questionable decisions though, and Liljegren has that in his game as well. I don't have a problem with that though myself

Gardiner should not be seeing almost 23 minutes like he did tonight, especially with the game he was having... that's just bad coaching. Dermott should've played more.

Your organization has a delusional asking price. Kick rocks.
The asking price was very high I agree. Having Tanev break Juolevi in next season could be huge for his development though. I get his decision but we have a difficult picture to figure out on our right side. We got Tanev, Gudbranson, and Stecher all of whom can and have played admirably with Edler on our top line. Not sure who is 1, 2 , or 3. Ideally, Tanev plays top 4 minutes not top 2. Jim is pretty adamant in what he wants. He wants character players and draft picks. No idea what the actual asking price was even though we heard rumours. But a Mike Green could have potentially helped. Just somebody to help insulate the young d core.

Lost a game 7 against one of the best teams in the league but they were in it for 45 mins.
I'll take it.

They were never going to win the cup this year anyway. Better than being swept, they showed some fight but just couldn't finish it off. It is an experience they will be better for.

My ignore button has taken a decent beating today.
I hope to see the realistic fans back on here next spring.
I will be in your beautiful country as of June but won't have any Internet. I will miss all the off season stuff and am excited as to who will be on the roster come October.

I can't be bothered with the overreactive negativity on here before then. Yeah loosing sucks but there is a silver lining. And no one will be hurting more at this moment, than the guys that were out there.
Have a great summer everyone..... Except for all you others that have had enough and are leaving the fanbase.
