Quinn was bad for the Sabres, but good for WNY given all the big events he brought in (WJC, Winter Classic, Pond hockey Tourney, etc.).

Sucks that Ruff couldn't find success here, but "run 'em" remains one of my favorite moments as a Sabres fan.
Noted. But as far as the Sabres franchise was concerned, I was glad to see him go.

Lindy will always be a part of the Sabres history, from playing to coaching. I wish him the best and while I know he will get snapped up and do well, I hope its in the west as I know he'll be a thorn in our side.
Had to be done, but still sad.

Yeah thanks for nothing glad thats over

Guess you'll have to find a new user name to go with those 16 posts.

Ruff gave it his best shot, but things didn't work out. It was probably time for him to move on, but I hope it works out well for him in the long run.

I'm sure Lindy will get a new job within a couple of months.

He deserves all the thanks in the world for the job he did in Buffalo, but in the end, it was just time to move on - for both sides.

I desperately wanted Lindy to win a Cup with the Sabres, but it just wasn't happening.

He deserves a better team playing under him, and at the same time, the players need a fresh outlook on hockey if they are ever going to succeed with the current lineup.

Best wishes, Lindy, and thanks for your dedication to the team.

WGR just mentioned he's been involved in 54% of the Sabres games. Either as a player or a coach, he's been with the team for over half of their games. That's pretty crazy.

We definitely had some good year with Ruff, and I wish him luck with his future endeavors. But it was past time for him and the organization to break up and move on.

Thank you coach Ruff for everything you have done for this team, keeping them above water under the hard financial time, when nobody would have blamed you for walking away, when this team was run on a budget, when Drury and Briere walked.......every coach has a shelf life, and yours finally expired. Good luck to you in all your future endevors.

Dare I?

There was a period of time where he was viewed as one of the better coaches in the league. His resume is pretty decent, and you can't say he was a bad guy off of the ice. He was a FIXTURE of the City, the team, and really a representation of our sports City for decades.

Wishing him luck in his future endeavors.

I agree. Its been "about time" for a while, but I kind have mixed feelings about it. They should have let him go some time during off season, rather than keeping him on board where it'd come to this. Kind of disrespectful toward him for all the years he's put in with the Sabres organization.

Thanks Lindy. He may not be a coach anymore, but he is a sabre for life. In a strange way, as much as I hope the team succeeds without him, I'd like to see him succeed somewhere else.

I bet his name is close to the top of the list for any team considering a coaching change right now.
