The Bruins should have traded him when I made this thread in November. He has been ass this season. I would have said he'd get a 1st for sure back then. Now I'd be happy with a 2nd and like a 4th.
2nd + BOS uni prospect Lachance from Edmonton

I like Frederic but I don't think he's worth a 1st. With that said, if there's a bidding war then maybe he can fetch one. I sure hope so.
Wouldn't be surprised if he does get one.

If the team acquiring him gets him signed he probably does, or it could be like a Goodrow trade where Boston ships out a later pick along with Frederic for a 1st

After discussing Trent Frederic with Boston fans I can't really say he is a guy the Oilers should go after. I'd offer a 3rd and that's it.

No deal? Someone else can trade more for him.

Don't spend assets on a guy who has to be motivated by others to skate hard.

Wonder if the Bruins could pry a guy like Chibrikov out of the Jets. He's hurt for the rest of the year, but he's a young NHL ready most likely middle six guy.

In a vacuum Frederic would be an okay add for a deadline, but the Oilers need a proven scorer more than another physical winger with questionable upside. I don't really see where he fits.

The lineup has him playing wing. How is he at the center position?

Rangers need a 3C.

We play him at 3c on occasion and he looks good there.

As for value, what a fan offers for him here on HFBoards and what a GM offers are usually never the same. GMs are pursuing Frederick for size, toughness, edge, and depth scoring. GMs will pay for that if they see a need for it on their team. Whether or not THAT is Frederick and he is worth what GMs will bid war over him with is the real debate. Sometimes what peoples desire for something to be blinds them to the reality of what that thing really is.

Either the B's will resign him for a decent price or he will ask too much and they will ship him for a respectable package of futures back(Pick, good prospect or high pick/lower pick).

Oilers don't need another proven scorer. Based on the guys they have been chasing the add upfront would be a fast and gritty player. Scissons, Olivier or Frederic type of players IMO.

Skinner, Arvidsson were the 'proven scorer' adds this season to join Hyman, Kane and the big 2.

below average at faceoffs. The Bruins played him a little bit at Center this season.....it didn't last very long.
I like the honesty from BOS fans.. other fanbases pump up their players upselling them as if NHL GMs lurk these boards.

Don’t expect him to be a stud center, a power forward, or a skilled winger. He will show VERY short flashes of brilliance in all three of the categories above, but then disappears for two weeks and you’ll understand why he is strictly a third line complementary player.

I’d love for Boston to get a 1st, but if I’m being honest (and look what I just said about him) I wouldn’t ever expect that. A 2nd and a long shot prospect is probably the final price.

I'd offer a second or a second and a late round pick or some kind of other pick swap if Boston wanted, but that's about it. Think he's a little overvalued and might be a good fit for my team (TB) but wouldn't really solve any of the bottom 6 issues they have

You want a top 6 forward for a guy who is putting up 4th line production?
The idea would be Carlo and Frederic together for an upgrade on offense and a big downgrade on defense. So Carlo who is top four D for top six forward, and Frederic who is bottom six forward for bottom pair D. Obviously Frederic on his own isn’t netting a top sixer (although crazier overpays have happened).

Ah gotcha, that makes more sense haha.

I'll say this about Frederic. He frustrates me as a fan because you can see that he's capable of being exactly what our team needs. He has the ability to be that 20G/40P+ forward that can be a disruptor on the forecheck while bring a physical presence to a game.

I've said this in the Bruins forum. I could see Frederic hitting the UFA market and going to play with his childhood buddy Matthew Tkachuk down in FLA. He'll go down there and fit perfectly with how Paul Maurice wants him to play.
