I would give Schmidt another kick in the can in Vancouver now that we’ve rid ourselves for JimJohn & Travis Green. Demelo would be ideal tho.

No. Elliotte thinks they might be.

Any wrestling fans here? Elliote is the Dave Meltzer of hockey.... I'm hearing this, I'm wondering if, maybe they are considering this, but If nothing happens he goes plans change

Click bait to the Extreme

It's actually extremely mild.

No, we want nothing to do with Logan Stanley. We have that type of player in spades.

And not for nothing, but isn't this still a development year for Montreal? Their running a lot of youth on the backend is getting those guys the experience they need and developing their games albeit at the top level. Why would they want Stanley or really why would they want to shuffle the quartet of kids around at all?

Dillion ($3.9 aav) for Puljujarvi ,($3 AAV)?
I rather keep Puljujarvi. While he may never put up the points that was expected when he was drafted he is solid defensively and works with McLeod . Yamamoto but would need retention so the cap is equal. I also never watch the Jets unless they are playing the Oilers so I have no ideal how good Dillon is. Kulak who we are using as a top 4 LD is more suited to bottom pairing so we need an upgrade.

Maybe if someone could weigh Dillon. Oilers fans ? Fans of other teams? Jets fans ?

Thanks for the rundown and no chance on the Holloway trade. Holloway is a big part of their future plans.

What do you think would be a fair price for Dillon and keep in mind that the Oilers would need to send money out to make it work.

I probably say what we traded for to get him would be fair which would be 2 2nds. But from your view you may want to shed some salary. If we were making a hockey trade I would want a young right shot forward. I know you guys have 2 that have struggled to produce this year. Not sure if you would want to move either but that is who I would target.

I think he is pretty much what you see is what you get. He is solid stay at home guy that can move the puck ok. He plays physical and he can brain fart once a game by playing too physical. He has been solid for us and if you have a partner for him that skates well and gets involved in the offense he will sit back. He likes system play and criticized the jets for having no systems last year.

I don't think we want to move him though but he does block some younger guys from getting in the lineup

Would you guys ever consider moving say Holloway for Heinola? Heinola has a lot of potential he just is blocked getting into our lineup and I think he could be a guy who really excels with your top guys.
Not saying the bold isn't fair value but Holloway just isn't available.

As for Dillon we need a partner for Bouchard that is solid defensively but we have zero cap so need to send at least equal money back.

I love me some Nate Schmidt but the money wouldn’t work for the Oil. Dillon would be a great pickup I think. Something around Dillon for Puljujarvi?

It would almost certainly have to be Yamamoto or Puljuarvi+smaller contract unless the Jets want to retain a slight bit. I guess one of those guys plus a 2nd or 3rd might be fair? I'd hate to give up either of them for an older rental but the Oilers are in win now mode and need defensive help.

Rather Keep Puljujarvi as he is working on the 3rd line. Yamamoto is the guy I think should go. If he isn't interested in being a 3rd liner then let the Jets have he choice

Jets have started the year very good so far, amazing what actual good coaching & systems can do for a team. Jets are having a strong start to the season despite losing their #1RW, head coach and a very tough schedule so far.

Dillon and Nate both have been good top 4D this year with the new systems and coaches, no surprise there. Tough one what to do with the D core, love Dillon toughness & defensive play. Love Nate's puck moving ability and skating. One plays LHD and one plays RHD, Jets have too many good young D waiting to get a roster spot. Stanley is likely also available for a depth player that is an upgrade to what we have now.

We have prospects on both sides LHD and RHD, I don't think the Jets want to push two rookies into the top 4 or top 6 roles at the same time but who knows. Jets could use stronger forward group in any trade coming back for D players.

I think the Leafs would think about Kerfoot for Dillon. Don't know how much value Dillon has, so it may not work one-for-one on each side.

Also the Leafs scoring depth (which is already horrible) would take a big dip if they make that move, so not even sure it's the right move to make.

Sens would/should be interested in Demelo, but mostly for futures. Not sure if that works or not.

Either one, Puljujarvi just jumped to mind I think because he’s featured in a lot of these proposals. At this point I can’t say I would prefer to keep one over the other tbh.

I'd say Dillon is more valuable based off not only what the Jets paid for him, but what the Avs and Panthers paid for similar D in Manson and Chiarot at the deadline last year and what, inarguably worse, similar style D (Gudbrandson and Zadorov) signed for in free agency. Kerfoot is good, but I don't see him as a fit for the Jets right now, I think they need a little more jam in their top 6 and would also prefer a right handed shot.

kerfoot is more a 3rd liner then top 6, plus Dillon has an extra year on his contract........so I doubt Kerfoot would be a target to get from the Jets. Jets third line has been very solid this year, so its a question also where would we put Kerfoot and is it really worth messing with the good line chemistry for a guy who is gone this summer. I just think Kerfoot for multi reasons is a bad fit for the Jets. IMO zero interest in Kerfoot for Dillon from me.

What would Winnipeg be looking for in exchange for one of their D? We just pulled Bear in, but knowing our luck in Vancouver, we will have 2 more defensemen move to the LTIR after the next game....

Maybe the Canucks should trade for Schmidt. Perfect fit on RHD. A 3rd?

Oilers could use LHD. Don’t want Dillon though, didn’t want him when he was available as a UFA and not surprised Winnipeg would be happy to move on from him.

Oilers could use some cap space, Stanley presents an opportunity to save some Cap if we can send a more expensive Winger. But there’s no guarantee that Stanley upgrades the Left side even the bottom pairing.

Maybe the Canucks should trade for Schmidt. Perfect right on RHD. A 3rd?
Jokes aside, yeah, probably.

The problem is we have to move one of Garland. Boeser, Miller, OEL, Myers, Horvat or some combination of Bear, Pearson, Mikheyev and/or Stillman to make it work, cap wise.
