Is Ryan Lasch really worse than the likes of Gaudatte, Watson, Kuhlman? Serious question. I know i moaned about Lasch alot, but he really should get a roster spot with all the declines.

He may very well be on the team (unless I've missed something). Won't know until the full "roster" has been released. Man, this is shaping up worse than last year!

Worst case scenario is team with many NCAA players. But it would not be end of world. NCAA is a good league and have many future NHLers. I liked the NCAA players in Olympics for USA, played with speed and hardwork, you could tell they are skilled. Yes exit in QF, but could ended with a win too. That game against Slovakia was even.

Give me young skilled just entering into the leagues players over plugs, journeymen & Euro washouts.

Beniers, Brink, Bordeleau, Luke Hughes, Sanderson, hell give me Nathan Smith and let's roll!

Looks like USAH wants to make as close to a full team announcement as possible and are requesting that teams/players not release the information independently. Based on that, looking at Morgan's tweet about Coyote's going, I'm guessing Galchenyk is likely on the team.

It's quite possible a guy like Lasch was asked and declined. He's played in the tournament before, but he's 35, so it's not like he's realistically trying to use the tournament to get into the NHL, and he doesn't need it to raise his profile with the top Euro leagues as they know and respect his game. Plus, I'm sure he feels he was snubbed by USAH in the last 2 Olympics where you can make a strong case that he should have been on both teams. I'm not saying USAH asked him this go around, but if they did, I wouldn't be shocked if he said no.

I'd take Galchenyuk to be honest. Still his a lot of skill and has something to prove.

Most fans have that mindset, most players don't, 1 thing is to be disappointed for not making the team , but make that a No for ever, hmm that's a fan mindset

The thing is that Finland, Czechia, Sweden and Russia among others have many "euro washouts" in their rosters every WC. And yet have more success than USA. Why then would it be wrong for USA to have "euro washouts" aswell? If other nations can have success with euro washouts, then USA could aswell.

When the US equals at least 3 of those nations combined in NHL players, there simply is no reason for asking players who no longer could make it over here. Maybe the rare occurrence of a younger overlooked player who came into their own over in Europe, maybe that.

If USA hockey can't get 24 out of 250 NHLers to show up here, shame on them. They need to make changes.

Its not about washouts , its about that hockey is a team game, Euro team that have 70% euro players have the same coach and systems for years , USA-Canada comes with 25 players brought together fews days before , with a coach that don't know half of the players

Watson - Gaudette - Kuhlman
Cates - Patrick Brown - Lasch
Hardman - Nathan Smith - Willman
Abdelkalder - N.Shore - Miele

Oesterle - Poolman
