Janmark is a good player, so that is good news. Hopefully he do not get injured now in whc.
Ehh, they are elite defensivly. Just because they are good offensivly do not mean they are bad defensivly. We won last year thanks to good defense, and Klingberg and OEL contribute alot to that to say the least.
But you are right that good defense is not all about defensemen, there are 3 other skaters plus a goalie on the ice that influence that alot.

Minnesota is knocked out, do you guys think Brodin will get/accept an invite? With him our defence will be even more filthy. To be honest, I don't think we have a single D in Europe that I feel has IHWC and I would like the team to only have NHL D. Regarding forward, I like Anton Lander and Elias Pettersson, otherwise I would like only NHLers there as well. Having someone like Carl Klingberg or Patrik Zackrisson as a 14th forward would be ok I guess
isnt Dahlen signed by vancouver so he has not much to say about it. I guess he could in theory make a big deal about it and try to force vancouver to let him go to whc.
Plus he fairly untested at higher level than allsvenskan, so really hard to say how good he would be anyway. Maybe next year.

I think Brodin was great in the playoff even if minnesota didnt have a chance against winnipeg, and since suter has been out he has taken a bigger role and show that he can be good offensivly as well.
Ofc Brodin is a lock if he wants to come.
At this stage, with so many already accepted, i think i would wait with inviting players like Eriksson Ek at least. Otherwize i agree, there is no upper limit when it comes to NHL players, they play there for a reason. When Omarsk has declined the only one i really want is Pettersson from europe. Lander is ok also i guess, but we already have plenty of centers. But i guess some can play as wingers.
I think Omark was only an option if we've had next to no NHLers joining. For Omark to be useful, he has to play top minutes and power play. With so many NHLers coming, there was never any room for him

Agreed. There is a reason that omark never had any sucess in nhl and wch. I would even choose someone like Pääjärvi Ahead of him.

because paajarvi has been the definition of success? Paajarvis best season came with omark

pääjärvi unlike omark is actually an nhl player. pääjärvi brings more to the table. omark is skilled and thats it.

pääjarvi scoring like 10-15p a season in NHL isnt better than a KHL top scorer.

a khl top scorer who only put up points against nations like latvia, norway etc. whats the point with having omark on a whc team? omark can not play on a 3rd or 4th line unlike pääjärvi who is a speedy hardworking player.

I dont want any of them on the team. But omark has done more for sweden than paajarvi. He had one fluke WHC.
also omark did show up at the olympics unlike the overhyped Jocke Lindstrom.

i think 7d and 8d will be from europe. arvid lundberg and eric martinsson perhaps, they could have the same role as rosen and holm had in last years tournament.

but omark never produces against top nations in whc, his khl super-star status do not change that fact. he is the swedish mozyakin.

he have been cold for 50 games or so. he is not in shape. another devil forward is marcus johansson, he has been injured the whole season so i am not sure about him but in good shape he is a very good player good for 50 points while having elite speed.
I like Möller too still don’t want him on this team though. There is only one top 6 player from the european leagues that could actually make a difference.
