Erik Påhlsson is doing great in USHL. He is nr 2 in points overall in that league with 15 points in 10 games. Its a good league. He was dominating in J20 last year and was a captain.

Edström and Stenberg in the same line for almost every Frölunda game. They should be a lock for the tournament together with Born on LW.

Wahlberg - Östlund - Lekkerimäki
Born - Edstrom - Stenberg
Suzdalev - Bystedt - Unger Sörum
Påhlsson - Forsjäll - Hellberg
Nordh

Salomonsson - Hävelid
Lindstein - ASP
Anton Johansson - Willander
Hugo Fransson

Hävelid
Thelin
Erliden

What i think the team should look like assuming no Leo and Öhgren. But we all know that grinders like Rudslätt, Eriksson, Wagner, Pettersson, Felix Nilsson etc will take spots over legit skill players like Påhlsson, Hallberg, Nordh, Forsfjäll etc. Its really tiredsome tradition with the swedish NT coaches.

And Jakob Noren, Odelius and Elias Pettersson should not make it over Hugo Fransson, Anton Johansson and Wilander, but they will just because they where on last years team, another tiredsome swedish NT-coach tradition.

we will have a strong roster but im not so sure about the coaches, we always have sus results vs other teams. 10-1 loss vs USA with our best possible roster in summer is just sad. And 5 nations in august at home we let in too many goals and played bad, sure it was our b team but the like the other teams didnt have their best possible players either.

We have had this problem at U18 level too with the same management.

The 5 nations next week will tell us alot, what we can expect at the wjc

Nilsson and Nordh are of the same birth year and it is a big question who is a grinder and who is a "legit skill player" between them two

Pettersson is 6'4 203, physical player with solid defense. Def should be on the team

Wow, it looks like Pettersson has grown. Can anyone confirm he is this big now?

He was drafted at 6'2 - 190 lbs.

Elite Prospects on his Allsvenskans team has him listed at 6'4 203 lbs.

It is the latest size from the Swedish hockey fed that EP uses. I.E. the size listed when the roster was announced recently

Difficult to know for sure if it is correct. Swedish teams suck when it comes to height/weight updates. Well, some teams listed at stats.swehockey.se seem to update each year, but some have listed the same numbers for players for years. There should be a note somewhere saying when the last time ht/wt was updated.

So, in Elias Pettersson's case
Swedish Ice Hockey Federation (national team): 6'4 203
Elite Prospects: 6'4 203
Stats.swehockey: 6'3 194
SHL team Örebro: 6'3 (no weight)
HockeyAllsvenskan team Västerås: No data at all
HockeyDB: 6'2 194
Eurohockey: 6'2 196
HockeyReference: 6'2 185
NHL.com: 6'2 185

So, it is a guessing game :)

Most Recent Video of him. He looks big, but i dont know if its 6'4 big.

His offence seems to be coming along as well with 7 pts in 8 games, That would be a very good trait to go along with his shutdown defensive game.

Felix Nilsson is the opposite of a grinder. He is a skilled two-way center that can also play on the wing.

Is it even worth having Öhgren on the team even if he become healthy? He has been out for too long and most likely wont be in good shape when the tournament is played. Better go with someone who is in great shape?

Btw, Unger-Sörum heating up, 4 points in his last 4 SHL games..

No Öhgren or Carlsson top 6 only:

Stenberg - Östlund - Lekkerimäki
Wahlberg - Bystedt - Suzdalev/Pettersson

Maybe theres a chance that Suzdalev also miss the tourney. He hasnt played a game this season so far like mentioned before. Well its still a good top 6 but the chance to win it all has decreased. No gold since 2012, im tired

i have him with Bystedt cuz they played together at u18. And that hes an 04. Thats it, but looking at points, i replace him with Unger Sörum

Öhgren is still easily a gamble worth taking. He can play any role on this team.
