Sweden is my favourite this year for gold slightly over the U.S. I think their defense core is what gives them the edge and playing at home.

Only one hitch but it is an important one, do not, I repeat, do not lay back and play a prevent defense in a must win game in which you are leading, continue to push with the talent on hand, which is something all teams can be guilty of on occasion but which tends to be a failing with Swedish teams far more often.
If that is corrected this tournament I think they go home with gold this year because I Believe they have the best team from top to bottom.

Sweden
Stenberg - Östlund - Lekkerimäki
Öhgren - Bystedt - Unger Sörum
Wahlberg - Edstrom - Born
Wagner - Forsfjäll - O Pettersson
Rudslätt

E Pettersson - Hävelid
Sandin Pellikka - Salomonsson
Johansson - Willander
Norén

Thelin starter for the training match

I know the coach will play the Djurgården trio together but i would spread out the talent actually.. Östlund and Lekkerimäki can help Stenberg to maximize his offensive potential and Öhgren with Bystedt can form a great duo. They played together at Hlinka 2021.

On the PP the Djurgården trio play together.

Pettersson 1 point in 21 games, yeah he needs to play on the 4th line

PP2: FUS, Edstrom, Stenberg, Hävelid, Bystedt

So, PP1 should be Öhgren, Östlund, Lekkerimäki, ASP, Wahlberg (with Willander maybe covering for ASP today?)

So the plan is to leave their leading scorer from last year off PP1? You sure about this idea?

The PP looked very good yesterday against switzerland. Swiss took 2 penalties in the first and Edstrom scored on both in like 15 seconds.

Juolevi was honestly not compared to anyone crazy at the time, from what i remember.
First we were comparing a Fin (Juolevi) to a Swede (Lidstrom).

Now we're comparing a Swede (Willander) to a Fin (Heiskanen).

What a time to be a Canucks fan.

I’m sure he was, but those comparisons are always aspirational, and not based on the prospect’s level on draft day. Maybe Juolevi has a different trajectory if not for the injuries. We’ll never know, sadly.

the comparison was made by a village idiot whom every loathes, .........when the guy drafted him.
