Omark, thats a guy i want.

Indeed.

2+2 in a 4-3 OT win against Växjö a few days ago. Chips in defensively as well, and is impossible to pry the puck from.

But we’ll keep him in Luleå fresh for the World Championships hopefully as a newly-crowned Swedish champion.

Found out today that you can borrow Erik Gustafsson, however. Him and Pudas should make for an excellent top pairing duo. I hope EG succeeds.

Sweden looks to become as boring to watch as a fresh coat of paint turning dry though. Sweden has a long proud history of failure with fun, skilled hockey. We’re about to get to experience a decidedly limited bunch of hard working lego soldiers lose because they can’t score, lack chemistry and are supposed to fit in and execute a Finnish system of boxing out pucks and hoping for a few timely mistakes.

Sounds like Garpenlöv will choose Erik as the captain.

We won all 3 games in Karjala Cup with a similar team. And played good in Channel One Cup.

Such a lame team. A lot of has beens and meh players. Haven't checked when during the day they play their games, but this is surely not a team you set the alarm for or take the day off work to see..

Was wondering what a possible team could look like if there was no NHLers in og 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014.

1998:

Patric Kjellberg - Jörgen Jönsson - Ulf Dahlen
Fredrik Bremberg - Mikael Johansson - Jonas Bergqvist
Nils Ekman - Jan Larsson - Ove Molin

Peter Andersson - Pär Djoos
Johan Tornberg - Christer Olsson
Roger Johansson - Kim Johnsson

Tommy Söderström
Petter Rönnqvist
Thomas Östlund

2002:

Niklas Andersson - Jonas Johnsson - Henrik Zetterberg
Nils Ekman - Johan Davidsson - Mattias Weinhandl
Peter Nordström - Jörgen Jönsson - Magnus Wernblom
Mikael Håkansson - Nichlas Falk - Mathias Johansson
Rickard Wallin, Ulf Söderström

Ronnie Sundin - Magnus Johansson

Christian Berglund - Johan Davidsson - Mika Hannula
Tony Mårtensson, Jonas Nordqvist

Ronnie Sundin - Magnus Johansson
Johhny Oduya - Fredrik Olausson

Johan Holmqvist
Erik Ersberg

2010:

Linus Omark - Tony Mårtensson - Mattias Weinhandl

I would say 2014 and 2010 team where the strongest.

One thing is for certain, these teams much stronger than todays teams and the 2018 team.

It's more like 4 for Latvia. And they're all 23 or 24. The extended roster contains 'filler' players, all of whom are young.

About u25 players. Albert Johansson was on the WC team, but now he is not on the olympic team one year later. Makes sense.

Elmer Söderblom, Jesper Wallstedt and William Eklund is good enough. So is Edvinsson who said no.

hmm i wonder who the 6 extra will be.

Jesper Wallstedt, Lawrence Pilut, Klas Dahlbeck, Oscar Lindberg, Marcus Sörensen and Pär Lindholm.

If i heard Garpenlöv right, they wanna use Rydahl as a winger.

Brome - Lander - Klingberg

Rydahl - Wallmark - Holmberg

Nordström - F.Olofsson - Friberg

De la Rose - Kruger - Brodin

Rinks will be small size.

Perplexing how Joakim Nygård wasnt picked...He has been Färjestads best player this season, he is fast, and this season he has used his speed just as well defensively as offensively. He recently played in the NHL aswell so he has that experience. Just strange, id take him over quite a few of Swedens forwards.

The reason is simpel. Nygård is never good in the Tre Kronor shirt. EHT is basically Olympics. Garpenlöv have taken out players who done good in EHT. Nygård would not start to play good in OG out of nowhere when he did not do it before in the Tre Kronor jersey.

Also how would Färjestad take that....having 4 of their best forwards gone to OG.

Team made of players not in the tournament:

Linus Omark - Emil Pettersson - Malte Strömvall
Mattias Tedenby - Oscar Lindberg - Jesper Olofsson
Joakim Nygård - Pär Lindholm - Dmytro Timashov
Jakob Lilja - Leon Bristedt - Daniel Zaar
William Eklund, Marcus Sörensen

Simon Edvinsson - Philip Holm
Christian Djoos - Tim Heed
Theodor Lennström - Niklas Hansson
Klas Dahlbeck - Adam Almquist

Anders Lindbäck
Jesper Wallstedt
Jhonas Enroth

If you’re going for the actual best goalies, I still think Lassinantti is better than Wallstedt at the moment.

Wallstedt is well positioned and has a size advantage. He does however have a tendency to leave a gap between himself and the post, or let goals through the five-hole. Lassinantti makes very few mistakes like that.

At any rate, I wouldn’t count out Enroth for big games just yet. When he’s on, he’s a wall.

Opposition aims high on those short goalies. Quicker, smarter, more accurate and harder shooters in international hockey takes advantage of size.

Now, who in NHL compensates for that?

Juuse Saros. And Aaron Dell.

Edit: Both are taller than Lassi though. I’m aware his height’s likely the main reason why we’ll be blessed with Lassinantti in Luleå for years to come.

Regardless, right now I feel safer with him over Wallstedt in net.
