True, he is incredibly skilled but he is a tad slow and weak. Not the best center you can have against the top lines in the NHL. Give it a year or two he will be elite but at the moment he isn't a top line center in the NHL imho. Horvat is way more stable from the games i've seen although not as talented overall.Pettersson had more points than horvat in 11 less games.

I might need that and I will enjoy them all. =) He is a fun player to watch. You need to watch more games then.
It happens. There will be more important games to come.Elias Pettersson was one of our worst players this game. Fine on the PP but that's about it.
Who will sit if bratt and landeskog enters the team. Rasmussen and?
That would be very interesting but it’ll never happen unfortunately.Nylander-Wennberg-Bengan
Lindblom-Pettersson-Bratt
Landeskog-Lindholm-A.Kempe
Loui-Krüger-Lander
Alternatively in the middle-6:
Landeskog-Pettersson-A.Kempe
Lindblom-Lindholm-Bratt
Nylander-Wennberg-Bengan
Lindblom-Pettersson-Bratt
Landeskog-Lindholm-A.Kempe
Loui-Krüger-Lander

Landeskog-Pettersson-A.Kempe
Lindblom-Lindholm-Bratt
Yeah it would be, but having those 3 together would mean having a third line that has been really unremarkable so far.Landeskog-Pettersson-Bratt would be intersting too
I think what i'd like to see is:
Nylander-Wennberg-Hörnqvist
Landeskog-Pettersson-Lindholm
Lindblom-Kempe-Bratt
Eriksson-Lander-Krüger
Kempe
OEL - LarssonUnfortunate for Gustafsson, he's been good, but he's probably the one to get 3rd pairing duties when Klingberg arrives. Might stick around on a PP unit, though. I think Pettersson will play over Hägg.
Mario I would think. Or well, he'll be dressed anyway.
If you run the lines that @theslatcher suggested you have three lines that have an equal chance of being the most important line for Sweden in any given game. The first two being heavily reliant of creativity, the third creating from having enough skill to capitalize on the chances they will get from their aggressive forecheck. Also please keep in mind Pettersson hasn’t been tried very much with Bratt at all yet.I'm not a fan of putting Landeskog on the third line. Pettersson is our most important forward and we should try everything to get him going as soon as possible. Try Landeskog on his line first and keep him there if it works well.
OEL - Larsson
Ekholm - Gustafsson
Pettersson - Klingberg
Isn’t completely unlikely IMO. Don’t think I’d wanna mess with Ekholm - Gustafsson right now when Gus has the kind of confidence he has with Ekholm. I think Klingberg could still take charge and run the game with Pettersson.
Yeah, I don’t really disagree I just think Klingberg could elevate M.Petterssons game while still being able to play at his own level.I feel like OEL-Larsson is the truly untouchable pairing among the two, and Klingberg is the upcoming #1 on the team.. so..

I don’t really think its that much of an experiment honestly. The most effective line is still intact, and you’re giving Pettersson a prolonged look with a different type of creative compared to Nylander while still keeping some heaviness with Lindblom.I'm all for experimenting but I just think Pettersson has looked a bit weak and aimless so far. A powerful player like Landeskog seems like the perfect match for a guy like that.
I'm not a fan of putting Landeskog on the third line. Pettersson is our most important forward and we should try everything to get him going as soon as possible. Try Landeskog on his line first and keep him there if it works well. Plus, I'm pretty sure a physical winger who crashes the net is just what Pettersson needs, instead of another playmaker.
