Söderholm probably wouldn't have a problem with it at least, I think his talk about rested goalies earlier was code for not wanting to take the ones playing for the most defensively solid DEL teams.

Which Dmen will most likely perform on powerplay for Team Germany?
Maybe they'll roll 5 forward first PP with Drai, when there's no more Ehrhoff or Seidenberg around?

Good Q. I doubt Söderholm would send 5 forwards on the ice with man-advantage.
However, it's true that we lack a bit of firepower in our D-core. I think Yannic Seidenberg (who is a former wing) will very likely be one of the blueliners on the PP. Other than that - Marco Nowak?

Moritz Seider has a good shot, grit and passing skills, so it'd be really smart to test him on the PP, and it's only an exhibition game - so if not now, when?

Here's my guess:

PP1: Eisenschmid (R) - Draisaitl - Michaelis - Holzer (R) - Kahún

PP2: Pföderl (R) - Hager - Bergmann - Seider (R) / Marco Nowak (R) - Y.Seidenberg

Other forwards worth bringing on the PP: Ehliz (L) (good chemistry with Drai, Kahún, Hager & Pföderl), Tiffels (L) (good chemistry with Drai), Plachta (L) and Noebels (L). Noebels is less likely though, as he'll probably man one of our PK-units, as will Frankie Mauer.

And, looking at these PP-formations, you'll immediately discover why it was a stupid idea of Söderholm to send Dominik Bokk home. :help: Bokk has a righthanded shot, sees the ice well, has supreme passing skills, possesses a great one-timer. 6 of his 10 goals for Växjo this season came on the PP.

In the last two game Holzer wasn`t in the PP.I think we will see Seidenberg and Nowak as Defensemen
pp1 Draisaitl ,Tiffels,Kahun,Eisenschmid Seidenberg
pp2Plachta,Michaelis,Hager,Pfoederl, Nowak maybe Bergmann or Ehliz for Pfoederl .

Yeah true, the reason I chose Holzer for the blue line was, that I had second thoughts about having Pföderl at the blue line (same applies for Ehliz) - having Kahún at the blueline is way better.
I wouldn't rule it out though, that Söderholm plays two lefties at the blueline on one of the PP units.

Another go, so far I have been pleased with the germans offence, as stated here before, our defence needs to improve alot.
Yeah our defense should perform a satanic ritual to boost their performance.

Btw: i hope that the Coyotes draft Seider.
Even though the whole board wants an offensive player (except me).

I think the defence issue also partly happen because of the lines söderholm picked.

He threw together a group of playmakers on the first and a group of speedy players on the second line, cause that way they can use their strengths effectively. But if you have a bunch of speedy not physical guys on one line that will obviously show on defense.
Tiffels ain't exactly a physical player, neither is Kahun.

He can probably change that mix based on who they play against. Against a weaker team where you have to find solutions offensively he can probably keep the lines as they are now.
Against stronger teams probably add a physical player to the tiffels kahun line or something

Need to add that my predictions for the PP where crap in terms of positioning. Of course - Eisenschmid is that guy who needs to shoot from the top of the circle, and Pföderl the more robust type of player who stays in front of the net for rebounds, deflections, screens etc...

Also, I liked Fabio Pfohl's effort so far. :thumbu:

Again Pfohl. He's getting PP-time on the 2nd unit with Hager, Plachta, Bergmann... and who's the defender? Nowak?

This was the first season I watched a lot of Pfohl and I really like him. Even if he is one of the forwards I would have been ok with cutting in favour of Bokk, but whatever.
A few months ago I got into an argument with someone in a youtube chat of all places when I mentioned Pfohl and Jonas Müller as further evidence that 95 was a spectacular year for German hockey. This guy called them both mediocre DEL players, which I think is selling them short.

No, of course Pfohl is a very skilled player... AFAIR he played a pretty dominant first half of this DEL-season. Also a guy who has played a lot with Drai and has good chemistry with him. Maybe he makes the team?
