lame... at some point all these declines begin to sound personal, as if no one wants to play for Berry Hill

We have way more NHL players this year than on average + Rask has never played for the national team on the skoda cup during his whole career. Your argument doesn't really hold

Pretty sure we´'ll get Saros or Rinne.. hopefull at least.. and almost hope more for Saros. He seems really solid goaltender and would be with lots of energy after this season (due to being 2nd netminder). And some times he can even be better than rinne tbh.

Pretty sure Armia Laine will come, if they drop! Would be awesome line, Armia - Somebody - Laine.

Saros no contract, Armia no contract.

In brief: Bhoys, we are f***ed up. (In Finnish: Pojat, me ollaa hävitty tää peli.)

--- Unless the weaklings meaning weak links stand on their heads, do the fandango and score at will or at least by chance. So, we must not faint, fail nor fall in the depths of despair. We must believe and hope. And keep on cheering for the team. Since

there is no other way.

Armia- somebody- Laine ???

You must be kidding , right ?

Laine would go straight to the ”second”-line with MiG and Rantanen. I don’t even think Marjamäki will have a roster spot for Armia if Laine decides to join.

IF Winnipeg loses ( which I definitely do not hope they do) it will be Laine and Niku that the Finnish management wants to ship over.

Rinne or Laine won't come, they'll be absolutely demoralized after a game 7 loss.

Armia has been missing games injured so no hope for him.

Saros might come and he'd be a massive step up compared to Säteri and Husso. Salomäki would probably also come but is he worth to bring with time difference and all? He'd bring some much needed grit in our woeful 3rd line though.

Tolvanen and Niku are both complete wildcards.

.

Its pretty evident you havent been following winnipeg alot. He plays 12mins night, is extremely good defensively and has very good offensive upside and puck skills.

Instead, Salomäki shouldnt have spot.

Tolvanen is always welcome. Wild card? Joker, Predator and a Wild Card - what could go wrong?

I have followed about every single game of Winnipeg this season. That’s not even the point, where would you place Armia in this years WHC squad ? He doesn’t have nowhere nere the tools that this years Lions really need, and since there are only 2 spots left on the roster it should be Laine and Niku without any hesitation. Armia is a good player and would have been a part of the WHC team under other circumstances. What Finland needs for those 2 open spots is somebody to replace Kapanen (Laine) and a skilled speedy d to replace Pokka. Therefore Laine and Niku, not taking anything away from Armia

Tolvanen would've been a lock in this team without his North American adventure. How long has it been since he played a game? A month?

I'd still pick him if he wants to come, don't get me wrong. I'm just skeptical how big of an influence he could be considering the season he has had with all the travelling around the world.

Obviously you wouldn't pick Armia over Laine. But I personally would pick Armia over Kapanen for a top 6 role any day.

We have more than enough of "skilled and speedy" d's. One AHL player replacing another AHL player wont make a massive difference. Someone like Määttä would've been more than welcome though...

What got me upset was the suggestion of a line with Armia-somebody- Laine. We have Savinainen-Aho-TT that works perfectly, where the hell would you place Rantanen or MiG if you have a Laine-somebody-Armia line ??

What Finland needs is somebody to replace Kapanen, and in my books it would be Laine. Of course if he would decline I could consider Armia in that spot instead. But the idea of building a line with Armia -somebody- Laine is just plain stupidity and shows more that the person recommending that haven’t followed hockey at all !

I don't get you. Armia and Laine could be the third line no?

Are you at all familiar with this years roster ? Please give your suggestion of a lineup with Armia and Laine in the third line !

whats the deal with antilla ? how can someone who is that big be so weak and unphysical?

imagine if antilla was strong and finished his checks hard....that would be a nightmare for the opposition!

Just typical Finnish mentality. I wish Ristolainen was in the team, he knows how to play hard.

until around 2010 finland was playing hard physical hockey! not sure why this change of style . same with canada and usa. russia and czech is most physical nations today .

He only become a useful player in the international level after Jukka Jalonen coached him at Jokerit. Now there's an actual hockey-brain inside of that hulking body. :)

He's still weak for his size but he's excellent at defending with his 3 meter stick so he don't even need to have a physical contact with the opponent.

I think Karri Kivi summarized Anttila's value the best during an earlier game: "Per the rules, he's the player with the puck. But guess how easy it is to get that puck away from him, because in reality, it's five meters away from you."
