Barkov Stanley cup champ!
I'd like to get Kakko but after all the injuries he has had this year, I doubt he'd come even if Rangers lose in 5.
Pittsburgh lead 3-1 against Rangers, I wouldn't say no to Kakko.

I think I've said before that even if we just get Granlund, that would bring so much more offence to this team and I think we need it. Tolvanen would be welcome as well, his shot on powerplay would be great to have. There's only 3 Finnish players i'd take before Granlund to WHC (Barkov, Aho and Heiskanen). He's like small Koivu, leader and he will give 100% in all situations and is tailored for Jalonen hockey. Year ago i would've said no to Tolvanen, but he proved that he's NHL level player even without his shot, so i'd happily take him. And this is a short tournament, he has that lethal shot and while it's inconsistent, it can win you games if he get's going.
While i hope that CAR, FLA and DAL would get far in the playoffs, it looks like atleast one of those teams will lose. Guys like Barkov, Aho, Hintz or Heiskanen are worth of waiting.

Well, there goes one "bonus slot". Jalonen almost assuredly won't start with just five d-men.Henri Jokiharju in covid. Will miss at least opener against Norway.
What on earth makes you think Kakko is likely to join?Kakko's plane is coming so it's really 19.

The only players that would from potential play off drop outs be really weather makers are Barkov and Hintz. Maybe also Heiskanen (Lindell?). But Jalonen will not leave 2 slots open (only in case on Jokiharju's place). He is usually fair to the guys in the team and he will not risk the chemistry of the team for slightly better options. And with that I have in mind that NHLers behind the names mentioned are maybe individually each better on a good day, but after a long season and travelling and a quick and short tournament - it is not worth to mess with the team. And he has the guys with whom he has won Olympic gold, 2019 Worlds and last year's silver. Situation would have been different with longer time to get into the team, etc. It will be interesting to follow the situation with Granlund (and Tolvanen). But I doubt anyone will be brought from Swedish Finals. Too short time to get into the team. 95% sure everything is at place already and really only 2 huge names who could make the difference are Barkov and Hintz.
I just don't see it happening because of injuries and contract. Just doesn't seem smart from him.Young guy. Jalonen's familiar. I don't think that the contract situation is a problem. Wouldn't be the end of the world if he didn't come though. Then Jalonen would just stamp Aaltonen and we would still be looking for some bigger star players. Also wouldn't need to run 11 forwards and could build some 4 forward lines chemistry easier.
Coupled with his injury history this season it might well be. Another strike against that could really ruin the raise he's looking at. And it's not a small one, since it's his ELC that's running out.I don't think that the contract situation is a problem.

And while anything's of course possible, smart money still paints him in the "unlikely" column rather than penciling him in.It's up to Kakko in the end.

Considering what most players do in a similar situation, even 50% is a bit over optimistic here.Going the optimistic way as long as I can but trying not to be over optimistic. I'll say 50% chance that he comes if that series ends 4-1 in favor of PIT.
Granlund brings lots of leadership too. Peltonen kind of guy who everyone listens to and even older players follow.I think I've said before that even if we just get Granlund, that would bring so much more offence to this team and I think we need it.
