Vrana is still unknown. I hope I wake up to find out that Francouz, Kaut, Jaskin and Vrana are joining the team. Grand Rapids plays around 7pm tomorrow with the biggest prize, Hronek, up for grabs but I'd really love to see Zadina and Sulak as well.

Francouz would be great, Kovář didn't look so well in the games so far. But with Colorado still playing, I don't think there is chance.
Vrána has injury + is RFA, so there is not much chance either.
I read they are not interested in Nečas and if that's true, Kaut has even smaller chance to play.
I agree Jaškin is underrated and I would like to see him play, but I don't believe it.
And I too hope Hronek will be available, we need someone like him. Šulák would also be welcome help.

Bartosak is probably best option as number 1 goalie for WCH in this situation.

I really dont like brothers Zohorna's, nothing positive in last games and it doesn't look like they tryin' hard to make a final roster in my opinion. Also Kovář was not as good as I was thinking before his join NT but his experiences could help us. My goalie no. 1 would be Bartošák.

On the other side I'd add Hrubec & Šmíd from the final of ELH.

Other than no Necas (still playing in AHL) I really like this lineup - if Kaut is available, then I'd want Francouz ahead of Bartosak. Gudas would be on my top pair with Hronek (but I'm not sure who is which hand). I'd move Rutta up the lineup and Jerabek down it. I'd replace Skelicka with Masin.

So Jakub Vrána, Dmitrij Jaškin and Filip Hronek join the team! Very good news. Especially Hronek will be very important to us. On other hand Milan Gulaš is out, he really have terrible luck.

For our team, that is a huge addition of speed and scoring (Vrana and Hronek). I was a big fan of Jaskin last year and he might be auditioning for a KHL contract...

Sulak is definitely better than several of our D. I'm a big fan of Musil (Oiler connection) but I"m not sure he is a modern player. He's essentially an in form version of Jordan, Smid or Polak.

Just trying to piece this together:

Top 6 would be Palat, Frolik, Voracek, Vrana and then some combination of Jaskin, Chytil, Kubalik, Simon and Kovar (who I'd rather in bottom 6 due to speed).

Bottom 6 would be 3 of Jaskin, Chytil, Kubalik, Simon, Kovar and then Hanzl, Repik, Sekac and Zatovic

Imagine a third line of Chytil/Simon/Jaskin?

Top 4 D (to me) - Gudas, Hronek, Rutta, Jerabek
Bottom pair - Moravcik, Musil, Kundratek

I'd really like to see Sulak join that Top 4 to be honest. Push Jerabek down a notch.


This leaves out whoever exits in Round 2 and guys I think should still be nominated as I think they are better than some of the guys above (Hertl, injured Mrazek, Francouz, Korenar, Pastrnak, Krejci, Faksa, Polak) and available (Sulak, Kaut, Masin, Zboril, Frk, Zadina)

I'm not currently thrilled with our goalie situation but am really liking the looks of this team

I really like the offense on this team - the injection of NHLers should grant us enough scoring. Defense brings us down as usual but with Hronek and Jerabek i like the offensive upside.

Goaltenders remain a questionmark, i personally think Bartošák can handle it if our D gives him enough support. SJS-COL series is an interesting one -> we have a chance to get either Hertl or Francouz, both of them would be great additions.

Gulaš on the other hand, is the epitome of bad luck. Yet another time he's going to miss the Worlds because of injury. I feel so bad for the guy, was looking forward to see him on the ice - his tremendous 1 on 1 skills and hustle make him so fun to watch.

Last year, you had Krejci-Necas-Plekanec, which was decent.
Both, the Avs & the Jackets have tied their series. They are strong enough to eliminate the Sharks & the Bruins - there's still hope.

Cheering against NHL players(teams) just so you can cheer for them a week later at the WHC? I will rather see Krejci/Pastrnak and Hertl play dominant roles in Cup runs than to watch them getting bounced in the quaterfinals with our national team. And I am sure they see it the same.
