It's kind of amazing how infrequently the biggest Canadian forward talents played together. In the last 50 years the Canadian players who would generally be considered the generational talents to debut in the NHL are Gretzky, Lemieux, Lindros (I know about the injuries but it is what it is), Crosby, and McDavid. Roughly one every ten years.
Gretzky and Lemieux: 1987 Canada Cup
Gretzky and Lindros: 1991 Canada Cup, 1996 Canada Cup, 1998 Olympics
Lemieux and Lindros: 2002 Olympics
Crosby and McDavid have never played with one of the other generational players. 1987 Canada Cup is the only time that two of those talents (to be fair, the best of the five) played together with each in his prime. Bedard seems like he could be one of those guys, we'll see. But he may not get many chances to even play with McDavid.
