NCAA is way harder and a big step up from USHL. Jack Hughes did play here in 2019 but he was in his U18 draft year with the USDP. I’d expect Celebrini to maybe get the call next year depending on how he produces as a U18 freshmen at the NCAA level with BU and World Juniors (assuming he makes the WJC team that is, we all know Hockey Canada makes crazy roster decisions every year)

Typical Canada pre-game. All new set up, not top notch timing and chemistry. But the line with Glass/Crouse was good. The main goal is just to get a game under the belt, and get some feels.

And yes, they have two spots open. But Marchand, MacKinnon, Crosby will not come. 99%. It could be more like O'Reilly or Bunting I would guess. Defence is ok enough. But they need a good proven goalscorer from NHL.

I think this team needs a guy who can drive a line with his skating and playmaking abilities more then anything, guys like Toffoli can put the puck in the net but there has to be someone who can make plays happen at a consistent rate, especially on the p.p.

We don't have that guy that I can see, that will hurt us unless a guy emerges.

TSN just had a rewind of the 2016 gold medal game. Putin came out unexpectedly after the game and delivered a speech congratulating Team Canada and thanking his country for hosting the games. There was an audible gasp in the arena when he was announced and even the Canadian and Finnish players were all in shock.

I don’t know if cool is the word knowing what we know now but that was something I certainly didn’t remember.

Sometimes I wish Canada took this tournament more seriously. It’s clearly a big deal overseas.

There was an audible gasp in the arena when he was announced and even the Canadian and Finnish players were all in shock.

Sometimes I wish Canada took this tournament more seriously. It’s clearly a big deal overseas.

This year is really weak but I feel like Canada´s caring and coverage got much better over the years. Problem is that USA do not care about this tournament at all and guys raised in the system of junior development do not care about giving anything back later.

It is no secret that he is a big ice hockey fan. He also launched and was present during World Championships in Belarus on multiple occasions with his friend Lukashenko who is big ice hockey supporter as well.

It's just really hard to predict with this off the shelf sort of rag tag group of players we have this year, at least for me it is.
