Dubois has been playing good hockey for Winnipeg this year. Lots of goals and he's looked better than his stats from what I've seen. It will be interesting to see if he keeps it up... especially if he's on the 56 player long list. He could fit in decently as a wing complement on several lines.

Crosby is out with covid and mild symptoms. It shouldn't affect his Olympic participation but it will be disappointing if a noteworthy number of players, from any countries, end up missing the tournament due to positive tests.

This team was mainly just me guessing who I think Hockey Canada likes. Since Ken Holland is one of the assistant general managers I could see Nurse making it over Chychrun. But I could see Hamilton make it over Nurse if they decided to go with 3 left shot D and 5 right shot D.

Snap judgements are the stock and trade of the thread. At least it isn't players getting added or removed from the team based on how they played in whatever period was just on tv, as seemed to be the case in the playoffs sometimes. To be fair in a few weeks we should have a good idea who is really going this season.

He's been dogshit in big games with Matthews. Now Matthews isn't int he same stratosphere as McDavid, but still no slouch.

Its a tough call with Marner though, based on skill he should absolutely be a lock, but his playoff record makes me hesitant. I think he makes the team but on a short ass leash.

definitely moving up the depth chart with a bullet. If had he played a full NHL season last year, (if we had a typical 82 game sched) then perhaps that would be more of an option. I hope he continues at this level for the next 8-10 weeks to make it interesting.

I am hoping to see Byram join Drysdale and Power on Canada's WHC team in May and start claiming spots for the '26 Olympic team. You got to put in the work. pay your dues.
