Silently but surely Logan Couture has had a good start to the season; I profess to not watching a great deal of Sharks games but he looked very good against Montréal and his points/faceoff numbers are good. Seeing as Armstrong included him in 2016, any chance he gets a look in if he continues his production? Perhaps in a defensive role

Couts and oreilly will probably be used in that role

No real surprise in those 6 names. Maybe a little odd to include Blackwood, who I believe is still unvaccinated

We could do a lot worse than Couture for a depth LW role. He's well behind Couturier and O'Reilly imo, but I think he'd be in the mix with someone like Tavares or maybe Perron in that #12 - #16 forward range. He's had a down couple of years, but has been a very good playoff performer over the course of his career. I've always liked his game, I'd like to see him make a push for this team. He'll need to play well to get serious consideration in my view, my sense is he's kind of been forgotten about since the Sharks have tanked.

On a similar topic to Couture, very early of course, but some of the young guys like Horvat and Suzuki who may have been short-listed by Armstrong for extra forward roles are off to slow starts. This benefits the veteran players, in my view, as they'll get viewed as acceptable low-risk options to fill out the roster. Particularly Stamkos, who has started very strong.

Yeah I’m assuming you’ve watched all the Montreal games as well and know that Suzuki should be NOWHERE near this roster given his current form

Agreed on Suzuki.

The one younger player I've been impressed by is Konecny. He's been really good. I'm not convinced he's necessarily a TC quality player, but I think he's close. He can play any forward position, adds an element of grit and physicality, has really good speed and hustle, and can score. I'm biased as a 67s fan, but he's moved up my own depth chart so far this season.

I wonder will D. Doughty be selected into Team Canada? The way he is playing I think he may be.

Doughty is a lock, imo.

Anyone know when Team Canada will release the 2022 Jerseys/Logo?
Would like to get my little guy some Team Canada Swag for Christmas… seems like they would be smart to release soon so we can spend all our Christmas $$$$? No?

I can't believe Carter Hart is even under consideration. He had a .877 SV% last year! That's not just an off-year it's catastrophic. I don't care how hot he starts there's no way I'm trusting him.

They revealed it at the beginning of November in 2018 and in early October in 2014, so any time now I guess.

And they'll outsource production to a factory in Vietnam or elsewhere in southeast Asia, meaning the orders won't arrive until late February 2022.

LeBrun has an article out on the situation surrounding Canada's goaltending. Hockey Canada was given an exemption to select six goaltenders rather than five for the long list due to Price's status. Any player not on the long list cannot be selected to the team. He says that after the playoffs Price was viewed by Hockey Canada as the number one, Fleury as the number two, and then Binnington or Kuemper. LeBrun likes Binnington's chances of making the team. Hockey Canada is giving Price space right now and seeing how things play out. He thinks that Blackwood will get vaccinated, and obviously if he doesn't then he is not an Olympic option.

Due to an agreement with the NHL and NHLPA the national team long lists are not going to be revealed.
