I want Reinbacher just so Buffalo doesn't take him. We're in a defensive weapons race, gentlemen. Arm yourselves.

I know a lot of people would be disappointed some of the more exciting names are gone, but I'm thrilled every draft if I can add a guy like Reinbacher.

Getting perhaps the best defenseman in a draft at #9 is nothing to shake a stick at.

This guy also feels like he fits the Wings blueline, the style of defender they want, like a glove.

I'm surprised for those voting Moore @ 9th. Though he will likely make as a good NHLer, his offensive upside is limited IMO. I feel the same to a lesser degree about Dvorsky and I think picking him in the top 10 is a mistake but a mistake that I hope the Caps make

Yager, who is miraculously missing from the list, is the easy play at #9. I think he will translate as a C. He's gonna boom next year and prove a lot of people wrong. He finished this year strong and his overall play trended in the right direction once October was finishing.

Danielson is a sleeper there IMO and a solid bet to be a top 6C - a player that I think projects nicely.

However if Yager is gone, give me Matt Wood before anyone else. Another "skating scare" that will bite many teams in the ass when he falls.

Hard to say what Detroit would do if the board fell like this, and I'm not sure what I would do either.

Would guess they would take Barlow or Reinbacher? Either one of those I would be fine with.

Could also see them really liking Danielson or Ritchie. Enough to take them at 9? No clue.

Not really sure if they would like Moore or Wood based on past drafts. They seem like logical options though. Don't see us being interested in guys like Cristall or Gulyayev. Kind of doubt we would be interested in Perreault but I know we were in attendance for some games he put up a bunch of offense at the U18s. I don't think we would be too high on Sale or Musty.

Gauthier is actually someone I could see our scouting staff liking, but with the second pick not this one.

Wood, Yager or Reinbacher here for me. I would prefer a forward I think. Wood has really really grown on me. 6'3 skilled scorers dont grow on trees. I think his skating can be worked on and with more strength he will be fine. Hopefully this will be the last time we pick top 10 for a while, get the best forward you can. If we really want a D, get Willander at 17. I also think Moore very well might still be there at 17 as well.

Honestly really hoping the draft doesnt fall this way because I really want one of Dvorsky or Benson at 9!

I’ve come around to the idea of Dvorsky at 9 if Reinbacher and Leonard are gone. Then I’d go for Yager or Benson.

I’m having trouble thinking of an NHL comparable for Dvorsky though.

Now THAT is far fetched. If he was a Barkov comparable the guy would be easily in the top 3.

I still think his very average skating kicks him over to the wing in the NHL. I think he could become a very successful scoring winger in the NHL if he develops a power game. But I’m iffy on his pro center potential right now.

Ok, Barkov lite....but that is exactly who he could be, maybe a 60-70 pt version of him. Or a crappier Kopitar. That's the mold I see him in.

Size, shot, passing, defensive awareness, "team first character"... i see lot of Barkov in him and if my memory is right Barkov wasn't projected to go in top-3 in the draft.

Of course Dvorsky is not in the same level and unlikely to ever reach it, but imo Dvorsky plays like Barkov.

Skating can be fixed and that might drop him to us, Dvorsky will be a center.

Pre-injury Monahan or this current iteration of Jared McCann on Seattle

No clue why people say Kopitar, Kopitar is and always was a f***ing tank

Why? Seider runs one pair and Edvinsson the second. Spread the wealth, instead of having Edvinsson - Seider on ice for 20-25 per game. We will have either Seider or Edvinsson on ice 45-50 min per game.
Yeah, there will be times when you have both on the ice, particularly come playoff time, but you can separate them into two pairings.

Wallinder is good offensive defansman, but his defensive game far from good. You put them together and Seider will be more like stay home defenseman to cover for Wallinder. Edvinsson is very solid defensively with some offensive upside. Edvinsson and Seider will be excellent together , playing like 25 minutes a game. Reinbacher certainly will be our #3 defansman that play about 20 minutes a game. Wallinder is more like third pair , playing with Sebrango

Seider plays his best when he is playing defense defensively. He takes people out of plays and can still get his point production feeding wallinder on the back end.

and if wallinder is third pair, why are people getting all up in arms when we add him to trades for a Keller/debrincat/meier??
