Seider plays his best when he is playing defense defensively. He takes people out of plays and can still get his point production feeding wallinder on the back end.

and if wallinder is third pair, why are people getting all up in arms when we add him to trades for a Keller/debrincat/meier??
They never see him playing in NA

I dont know where William "3rd pair" Wallinder came from. I think Wallinder and Seider go together like lamb and tuna fish.

What is so good about Reinbacher? On EP only one or two have him 12th or higher. Most have him rated 17-26 range. Not debating, asking as I know nothing about him other than EP's rankings list.

Wallinder is good offensive defansman, but his defensive game far from good. You put them together and Seider will be more like stay home defenseman to cover for Wallinder. Edvinsson is very solid defensively with some offensive upside. Edvinsson and Seider will be excellent together , playing like 25 minutes a game. Reinbacher certainly will be our #3 defansman that play about 20 minutes a game. Wallinder is more like third pair , playing with Sebrango
Aah! the underrating, hurts my eyes! What i've seen from Wallinder he is good defensively, uses his reach well and Wallinder is not done developing. In NA Wallinder will become defensive defenseman.

If Dvorsky could become that type I’d be psyched for him. I still don’t think the skating is there though. It’s not bad but it diminishes the explosiveness in Dvorsky’s game.
I should have qualified that by saying my comps are what I see if the player hits on their potential. Makes things a little more fun, but causes a bit of confusion when I have someone like Cristall comped to Ribeiro but ranked pretty low because I think it’s unlikely he hits

He has been steadily rising throughout the season.

On the most recent poll done by Mckenzie of NHL scouts he came in ranked 10th. That is an average score, by the way. So pretty likely some of the NHL scouts he polled have him higher than 10th.

Given he is most likely the consensus top defenseman in this class, and some team within the top 10 will probably want defense (Philly had said this outright) it is just logically connecting dots to slot Reinbacher going somewhere in the 6-10 area.

Nice thing about Wallinder is that they give him time to develop, not rush him , like they did with Cholowsky

Probably , but I remember how Red Wings fans were excited about him when they just brought him in NHL. His offense was something we haven't seen for a while from defenseman.
Dude they could have had Cholowski in Grand Rapids for 8 years and he would have still sucked just as bad.

Ok thanks for that. That said, shouldn't we be picking the 2 best forwards available with our 1st rounders. We have very few forward prospects and are a little deeper on the blueline.

He was still at the time of his draft rated higher than Wallinder was in his draft year. Which is why Wallinder is being brought in slower. Most 1st round picks get to the NHL pretty quickly. Also, Steve is more patient at this time than Holland was at the end here with high prospects.

I am also hoping for 2 forwards with our first round picks. I think there are decent odds that is what we get.

But if the scouting staff that thought Seider was BPA at 6 based on his tools thinks Reinbacher is BPA at 9 based on his tools... I will trust them in that assessment.

And then that guy turns into say Niedermayer or Rafalsky.

Let him, that's fine. We have seider, edvinsson, wallinder, and AlJo. At some point we won't be able to pay all these guys the market rate. Add another to the mix and it's going to be pretty rough to keep them all.
Trades are still a thing, if I remember correctly! Steve happens to be pretty good at them too!
