  • Congrats to our latest Sportsbook winners - GOLD MEDAL kihei, SILVER MEDAL fish7 and BRONZE MEDAL Sammy Kat - new tournament begins today 6/15
Damn. Well I’ll give credit to JBB, he has his principles. That’s a lot of discipline walking away from our #1 RD. I wonder who we replace him with.

The Marlies are still playing, so you've got to figure that we aren't getting a minor leaguer coming back.

The Calder Cup Final has another chance to end today, so if we end up in a holding pattern, that might explain it.

Winning the Calder Cup to being immediately traded would be something.

But they could also trade now and TB loans the guy to the Marlies. That's still sort of wild.

That would be absolutely mind boggling. You help a division rival signing the biggest UFA of this offseason, get them the chance to sign Raddysh for 8 years instead of 7 hence keeping the AAV down... and all you get is a late round pick? Yikes
That’s a terrible deal if it’s just for a 4th round pick

Yeah not expecting much in return, but better than nothing.

I'm still torn on this, my gut feeling is that this is the right call, but only time will tell whether that was the case or if we will look like fools.

Lol 8 years, I'm happy for Raddysh but that is going to suck for Toronto in few years.

I was really hoping he would stay with us, but we were not going to give him 8 years moneyball.

I dont want to pay Raddysh 8x8. He's 30 and only had one big year. Seems crazy, no?

If anyone knows him, it is the organization that brought him up over the years. They obviously dont see that type of long term investment in him.

OR...

He just wanted to go home. His father passed away from cancer last season. Maybe we are just doing him a solid 🤷‍♂️

8 years is kinda wild, but the cap is fine.

All y'all flocking to Carlsson is crazy. Guy is 36 and hella washed. Our defense is cooked now. Hedman should not be getting 20+ minutes. We have no one to play with Moser now

I don't think anyone is pretending that signing Raddysh would've been without risk. But at least I would've much preferred slightly overpaying him than signing another pensioner.

Nothing worth of value will be heading our way, so I don't even see the need to even address that.
Signing him to 8 years north of 8M is too much of a risk.

What is with the bitching on here? Did you want to sign Raddysh to 8x8 or not? Just say if you wanted the Lightning to do that. I'm glad we didn't.

A sign-and-trade hasn't been confirmed. It makes more sense from the Toronto side to just trade for his league rights, expiring or not.
