Whoever told me sign and trade deals are still a thing the other day, I tip my hat to you sir. Curious to see the price? If JBB is able to somehow snag Knies (would obviously be Raddysh signed + ) I'm gonna build him a statue.

It's going to be 9-10M, Leafs are that stupid. They want a mobile, puck moving defenseman, and they sign Raddysh who doesn't move the puck well up the ice and all his offense happens in the o-zone off his shot.

My guess on the return is a 3rd, maybe BUF 2nd if we are lucky. Would be kind of cool to get a goalie in the system like Akhtyamov

I don't see JBBsigning trading Raddysh to Toronto, that will be direct competition until our window closes, unless the return is something more than a 3rd rounder.

Doubt we are getting anything meaningful back. Pretty much have to sign Carlson now for our D to be any good so that’s fun

This doesn’t scream $9-10 M to me. He and his agent must be smoking some pretty dank stuff.

Edit: His regular season stats were still quite good, actually, but his age is pretty spooky given our number of seniors already.

@Sky04 since you are eager to critique, what is your grand solution anyways?

Carlsson is a significantly better option short and long term than Raddysh, use your head. His camp also never said 9-10M even if they did that's a starting ask not a finish.

Marco D'Amico: John Carlson is looking for a short-term deal with an average annual value similar to the $8 million on his expiring contract - RG (6/14)

Yeah give me the guy who averages 60 points a season for the last 10 years over Mr. 1 year wonder.

Hence “fully” realized.

Yeah it's going to be "fully" realized when we sign a 60 point defenseman instead of....doing nothing. Good one. 5mins ago you didn't even know he had 60 points last season and yet you're clamming away about how "terrible" it'd be.

JBB is about to retain 3% of a sign-and-trade because I just mentioned the possibility.

We might be 2030s fourth round pick enjoyers.

No way the price for a sign and trade, that enables Toronto to sign Raddysh for 8 years and keep the AAV lower only costs a 3rd.
A 3rd rounder would have been the price for Raddysh signing rights before July 1st (which is exactly what we paid for Guentzel)
Toronto is gonna have to pay more than that IMO
Ekman-larsson? And a pick than we sign another D during free agency as back up not sure what our GM has in plan.

I think it will either be RFA rights to Macelli + a low pick or Robertson.
But even if that's the return, neither of those players puts us in a better position than we were at signing Raddysh, so IDK.
The only thing that would make sense for our roster would be Raddysh being part of a package for Knies, which would address the need of a true power forward that we've been trying to get for quite a while.
But I don't see how Chayka would even entertain the idea of doing something like that.

We're looking at a situation where even if we trade Paul, Goncalves/Girgensons might not make the lineup so I don't know why we would be bringing in even more depth forwards.
