I think everyone can understand that the lightning are in a win now mode, and that they get 3 cup runs at a favorable rate with Hagel, but IMO this would have been a good enough framework to send to Vancouver for JT Miller @ 50% retention. I am not sure there is anyway Vancouver says no to that haul, and if they did, it would only require minor tweaking IMO, especially in terms of money in/out. They would have got 2 playoff runs of a substantially better player as opposed to 3 playoff runs of a player who is good but not great. I just don't really understand it TBH.
TB can do whatever they want, they have the success to justify anything at this point. All I'm saying is they paid a superstar level price for a non-superstar. I can't be alone in thinking this right?? They absolutely could have gotten a better player out of that package right??
someone help me out
Hagel is also fairly young at 23. And he'll still be an RFA at the end of his current contract - which is also a really friendly contract. I get that TBL is going all in, but it's far easier to give up assets for players who are young and will have plenty of team control left.I think everyone can understand that the lightning are in a win now mode, and that they get 3 cup runs at a favorable rate with Hagel, but IMO this would have been a good enough framework to send to Vancouver for JT Miller @ 50% retention. They’re going for the 3-peat, which hasn’t been done since the Islanders dynasty. It’s going to be tough with all the wear and tear and fatigue, so yeah I’d say they have to do everything they can. And they are.Do they really have to go all in tho? Aren't they already in?
They basiclly got what Tampa gave for Coleman and Goodrow... combined. That's a solid high value. This seems like a lot of quantity over quality. As a Hawks fan, I'm not sure they got enough.
Zero? They'd get laughed at for 2 late first and two fringe nhl players (and they are fringe).So.... what are the chances the Blackhawks turn around and offer some or all of this package to the Arizona Coyotes for Chychrun?
i don't.Don't you discredit Yzesus. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have the pieces for the 2 cups. Also All Praise to Saint Murray.
Yes. You can’t compare him to an soon to be unsigned RFA with arbitration rights like Crouse or or rental like Copp or Miller at 5.25m.Hagel has a 1.5 cap hit until 2024. That's why the Bolts opened their wallets.

NHL Sophomore on pace for ~50 points and signed at 1.5M for 2 more years. Has a very similar engine, playstyle, and development path to Andrew MangiapaneWho is brandon hagel and why is his trade value superstar?
All I know is that if TB wins a 3rd Cup in a row they're in discussion for one of the best dynasties in hockey history and the best franchise the past 30 years or so.
If five to seven years from now they have to rebuild I don't think their ownership or fanbase is going to care if they have a Kraken-like season or three.
It's a classic case of quantity for quality. None of those pieces are important to the canucks - particularly when in return for one of the best forwards in the leagueTwo roster players and two picks doesn't start the convo lmao
