Makes sense considering he has history with the head coach, the GM, the POHO, and some of the players on the team like Blueger

The optics of snubbing a sunshine state for a Canadian market would break HF. Granted Vancouver is most likely the most desirable Canadian market

Management has been oddly tight lipped, they have something going on.
Tampa is also on a downward trend whereas Vancouver is just hitting the cores prime
Vancouver luck would have them both sustaining career impacting injuries the first year.

Yeah you people are ridiculous lol, there's no way they give up a 3rd unless a deal is already in place for an extension. An absolutely amazing off season so far for Tampa. Sergachev and a 3rd got guentzel, a top center prospect, top 4 defenseman, multiple draft picks and still money left over to bring back Stamkos or fortify the defense more. Lightning have got themselves in a good position to get back in contention.
"other moving parts" indicates to me that we were negotiating with Stamkos and Hedman as well to make all of the numbers work out.

Frank is a hack. How is a deal agreed on but there's still moving parts? Either it's done or it's not. On Friday it was said a canes deal was immenent
I trust nothing frank says. His tweet itself is odd. " A deal has been reached but moving parts are still keeping it from being announced.
Makes no sense since they clearly have the cap and if the deal is done why wait till tomorrow?

Maybe Guentzel wanted to go to Vancouver at the deadline, but you're dealing with a much more limited market there and a very short term commitment. Doesn't mean they remain his top destination in a larger market for a long term deal, and not hard seeing Tampa getting the jump here.

What’s understood through the grapevine is that on Friday the Canes had submitted the 8x8 deal that Guentzel was looking for. Guentzel simply turned it down.
The big question right now is whether a deal is “agreed on” in the sense that the Canes deal was agreed on, or whether he has actually accepted the offer and will sign.
