There was Redden, Jessiman, Mironov, Ballej, Rupp, Brashear, Montoya, Malik, Anson Carter, Frolov, Kotalik....

Malik was not bad at all--not the brightest, but had saving graces... Frolov was nowhere near useless, just couldn't score... Jessiman played, what, 30 games...? Less for Rupp... but no one really ever expected him or Brashear to be All-Sars... Mironov was similar to Malik... Balej and Montoya were busts... you're right about Redden, Carter and Kotalik... someone mentioned Karpa... he was awful... Malakhov wasn't as bad... Ulanov, Adam Hall, Isbister, Hlavac's last season, Ozolinsh of course, Zdeno Ciger (more pthan 10?), Taffe, Drury was actually that bad at the end, Jeff Toms...? I wanna see more effort next time! :P

For the record, I don't think Pyatt has been a detriment so much as a void... which I guess IS a detriment...

He's always been a streaky player. He started w pts then sucked. Then he just kept sucking. Dorsett will ideally replace him

My top ten most hated Rangers of the past 15 years in no particular order:

1. Michal Roszival
2. Marek Malik
3. Valeri Kamensky
4. Richie Pilon
5. Ryan Hollweg
6. Sandis Ozolinsh
7. Marcel Hossa
8. Aaron Voros
9. Wade Redden
10. Ales Kotalik

I was a fan of Hollweg,no doubts.

Good o'le Hollweg...always good for one good boarding penalty a game.

I genuinely believe Pyatt will be traded before next season. There is too many Forwards already on this team when you include who should/could be getting a look next season (Miller, Kreider, Fast, Lindberg, Hrivik maybe).

Sather has to make a move and get rid of some of these guys.

I noticed him a bit last night... not much, but it was the first time I had in a while which is what struck me. There will assuredly be some bottom line(s) movement in the off season.

No shortage of players wanting to be in NYC facilitates this.

I still do not understand why Haley would be a bad option for the 4th line wing spot. He looked good in his time up, skated well, hit, made a few plays offensively. He stirs the pot as well, which is always a good thing for a team looking to play physical hockey. Pyatt has been bad.

the only justification i can think of for having him here over haley or newbury is because hes a big body and can play the boards somewhat well. id really like to give haley/mash/ferriero another shot to see if one of them can come in with a hot hand a maybe chip in for the playoffs.

really hoping dorsett can come back soon i think hes the ideal replacement for pyatt.

Clowe-Mash connection! :naughty:

This is just me speculating, but I wouldnt be surprised if Haley's attitude has something to do with why hes not with the big club.

I think there's something.

I'm surprised that Pyatt is still here. He seems like the exact kind of player that really isn't adding anything that Sather finds a way to move (Kotelik, Higgins, etc).

Hes just filler at this point.

Its really frightening to me that we don't have 1 homegrown guy that is capable* of adding something to the #12 forward spot.

*capable = being trusted by Torts too, which is a big part of it...with that said, Torts puts such an emphasis on going out there to make a difference. Pyatt certainly isnt doing that, ever.

Then there's a bigger issue that they're giving fillers multi-year contracts.

I don't think I've seen a player that I've noticed as little as I notice Pyatt. I'd be lying if I did not confess to being completely at a loss as to how he's stayed in the line up this long.

Hopefully Dorse gets back soon and his days are numbered. Easily one of the most, if not the most mehh player to wear the colors.

I have one request for the hypothetical playoffs. Can we just bring Kreider back up to replace Pyatt and hope he can recapture some of last year's magic? Seriously, what does Pyatt bring?

1. Doesn't fight
2. Doesn't play the PK
3. Doesn't play the PP
4. Can't pass
5. Can't score

I know Torts "can't trust him"... but on a team that will probably need a bit more offense, can't you at least TRY?

This wouldn't be good b/c we have Krieder getting big minutes developing right now. Sticking him in Pyatt's role is going to take away all of his minutes, he can't work on his game which has plenty of holes and he doesn't improve much. Rather have Pyatt being useless and wasted on the 4th line than Kreider. The only good thing is after his ELC is up krieder won't make huge bucks at all.

Pyatt needs to be replaced. Asap. Get well soon Dorsett.

I liked the guy in the beginning of the year, but he has just disappeared the last 30 games. How much more time is Tortorella gonna give him? he better be the odd man out when Dorsett is ready to return. NOT Asham and definitely NOT Powe.
